    1. Hi JncGwen,
Thanks for the visit and comment.
So many S3 user out there reported that they were not satisfied with the S3 auto correct. Some of them using Swiftkey and they said that it works quite great.
      Hope it helps :)

    2. Some ppl don't like swiftkey and would like to use a basic feature on their superior phones that works just fine on inferior phones.

    3. Hi Lyle Miller,
      Thanks for coming.
For some reason, I'm agree with you.
Samsung Galaxy S3 is a great Android based-smartphone but it doesn't means that this phone has no flaws. I found some basic function on this phone can't work well, whereas they work just fine on inferior phones as you've said.

    4. As of the last update 12/28/03 you have to go into Samsung Keyboard if you have one...and thats where the predictive language lives...turn it off!! Maybe different for all phones...but..oh what a pain it is!!

    1. Hi Nory Carr,

You might want to try the Perfect keyboard app, some user said that this keyboard has better auto correct than the stock. You can get either free or paid version through the Google Play Store.

    1. Hi Laffalot41,
      Thanks for coming.
After you did enable predictive text, long tap this option and then enable "Personalization data". You can set it to learn from Facebook/Gmail/Twitter. All of learned words will not added to the editable user dictionary. Long pressing in a certain predictive word in the suggested words bar will ask if you want to remove it from the learned dictionary if the word is in there. You can also clear all of them by using "Clear personalized data" option.
      Hope this helps :)

    2. Thanks to the nifty system update, predictive text does not exist on Samsung SIII or at least not mine.

Also thanks to Autocorrect not existing. My saved option of turning it off on my old phone was removed thereby reactivating AutoCorrect when the system update came in.

BackB0ard is not BaconBits (used as a name) yet that was submitted even though the keyboard did not offer a replacement initially.

      Thanks for coming.
CMIIW, so your keyboard is auto replacing all the word you've entered when you type a space or punctuations? And you didn't like that? If so, go to the settings menu of the Samsung keyboard then turn off "Auto replacement" option (if this option is off then turn it on and back off to completely disable this option).
      Hope this helps :)

    4. Thank you! Just happened to me. With no warning, my words started being replaced with other words. Retyping the word wouldn't help, of course, word just gets replaced again. Found your instructions. Auto replacement option was already off, of course. Why *would* there be any explanation as to sudden change of behavior of a Samsung Galaxy S3. It's par for the course. On and off solved it. Whatever...

    5. Hi Don,
      Thanks for coming.
Glad to know that you can find something that has helped you to fix your problem. I noticed in the Android 4.3, for some cases, we need to on it and off it again to completely disable the option.

What's carrier are you using now? Verizon or AT&T or else? Have you ever tried to check on Settings> tap "My Device" tab> under input and control settings, tap "Language and input"> tap Cogwheel icon next to "Samsung keyboard" option to access the settings menu> tap "Predictive text"> slide the switch next to "Predictive text" to the right to enable this feature.

Seems I've been misunderstood with the Andrew's question, he said that he can't find predictive button so I replied him how to turn on predictive text in Android 4.3. Seems he wants to turn off this feature instead of turned it on. However, hope all the replies in his comment finally letting him to solve the problem.
Again thanks and have a nice day :)

    6. All ... fyi ... For some reason, my phone was automatically replacing words .. even if I manually spelled out a word. When I went to settings, auto - replace was off. I had to turn it on and then off in order to disable auto - replace. I also turned predictive - text off then on during this process so I'm not sure which one worked. Bottom line ... my settings are the same as when I started but phone does not auto replace ... toggle on/off fixed it.

I don't know why in the Android 4.3 certain option is works though the option is turned off, and in some cases we need to turn it on and then back off to completely disable that option. Really have no idea to explain it. Anybody know?

  6. I like when predictive text suggests words below you might want to use. What I do not like is the auto correct feature that incorrectly corrects my words without my asking it to. Can I turn off this feature with still keeping the predictive feature?

If your S3 runs with Android 4.3, then try to turn off "Auto replacement" under Samsung keyboard settings. To see the complete steps, feel free to visit our post about it here:http://inside-galaxy.blogspot.com/2013/12/samsung-galaxy-s3-how-to-fix-keyboard.html

  7. I just installed a new update and it now auto corrects EVERY SINGLE WORD even when I don't want it to. For example, a town that I live close to is Byesville...and everytime I type it and press the spacebar it auto corrects it to Burnsville. I have to manually take my curser back and take out the urn and type ye. My auto replace is off and always has been. Ive always had predictive text on so I know this is not the cause. Is there no way to turn off this new auto correct? I hate texting now because of this. If this is a flaw, I hope it gets fixed!

  8. On your Samsung 3 updated to 4.3. Once you go into Language and Input in your Settings, go into the settings for Samsung Keyboard turn off Predictive Text. If you still want to be able to Swype and Keyboard Input Text you will need to also change your Default Keyboard to Swype. It changes the look of your keyboard a bit but you are able to do both. When I just turned of the Predictive Text, it took care of the auto correct but I could not Swype on the keyboard. Changing the Default Keyboard allows me to do both now.

    2. I want to switch off auto-correct, but still keep predictive texting (the suggested words at the top of the keyboard). It is super irritating if the words corrected automatically without me selecting from the predictions. These are 2 separate functions in my opinion...?

  9. Hi. I was thinking you should update/check it out again because I currently have the s3 and it recently performed an update and now it doesn't wait for you to click on it before it corrects you. I like the predictive text but I can't find a feature that turns the correction off.

    1. Hi Sixela_92,
      Thanks for coming.
FYI, I have switched my phone to Galaxy S4 with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and it's now running with Android 4.4 Kitkat. I noticed in Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, there's an option called "Auto replacement". This option only available if you have activated Predictive text. Auto replacement will complete or replace the word you're typing with most probable word when you tap the space bar or a punctuation mark. So, when the Auto replacement is enabled, the phone will not wait for you to click a suggestion word, but it'll automatically replace/complete your word with the most probable word. You can find(enable or disable) this option in the Samsung keyboard settings.
