I "tap" and "hold" and still can't get the download option!!!! Help!!!
DeleteHi SnapShot,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Make sure you have enable auto retrieve option on your Messaging apps settings. To check go to Messaging settings> scroll down to MMS settings, then ensure 'Auto retrieve' option is enabled.
Also make sure you have enable mobile data on your phone. To check go to Settings> More settings> Mobile network> make sure 'Use packet data' option is enabled.
Hope this helps :)
The steps above work for some pics I receive but not for others. Some txt msg bubbles do not have the circled triangle icon next to the word MMS (like in the pic you posted). When I open a pic that has MMS only, the message option is "set as" alone. How do I convert from plain MMS to the MMS with that extra icon?
ReplyDeleteHi Christina,
DeleteI'm so sorry for the late answer.
Did you mean you can't save a picture on your single mms which don't have circled triangle icon?
Try to tap and hold your single mms bubbles until a pop up menu displayed. Here you can find option to save the picture. When you open the mms on full screen then long press on the picture, there will be no pop up menu displayed.
Hope it helps :)
Can you save your whatsapp contacts profile pics?
ReplyDeleteHi 2cool,
DeleteI'm so sorry for late answer.
Unfortunately, WhatsApp doesn't allow their user to download their contact profile picture. But, with a little trick you can do this. Here's the steps:
1. Open WhatsApp.
2. Tap on the name of the person you wish to download his profile picture on the chat window.
3. Now contact info page will appear.
4. Tap the picture.
5. Now you will see a full screen image of the profile picture.
6. Close your WhatsApp.
7. Go to My files apps and open WhatsApp directory then go to Profile Pictures. Here you will see the profile picture you've viewed on WhatsApp.
8. Tap on the picture you wish to download.
9. Here you can share, edit or enlarge the profile picture as you want.
Hope it helps :)
How I can reply multimedia messages to all in the Group, instead to just one?
ReplyDeleteHi Sachi,
DeleteI'm so sorry for late answer.
I've spent nearly two days to find a solution that is relevant to your problem. From what I've read in many forums, there are lot of Galaxy S3 users are having this problem and they still unable to fix it with the stock messaging app. Here I outline some point for you:
1. If you use Verizon version, they have Verizon messaging app that has the function to Reply to all.
2. Or you may want to try to use another messaging app then use it as your default. Some user reported they could fix the problem with Handcent messaging app or GO SMS Pro messaging app.
Hope it helps :)
When I try and save a picture, I get save as imaginejpeg_2. jpg. if I select it, it asks if I want to replace file imaginejpeg 2. If I click yes it overrides and deletes another picture. If I hit no it wont save. Is there anyway of saving pictures without remembering what pictures I have saved?
ReplyDeleteHi Stephen,
DeleteThanks for coming here.
I did further investigate on many forums to find a relevant solution to your problem. Unfortunately, from what I've read there are no one who can solve this problem with the stock messaging apps. If you want, you can try to use Handcent or Go SMS Pro as your default messaging app. Some users reported they no longer have a problem when saving mms picture using these apps. In Handcent, there is also setting that allows you to create a folder specifically for downloaded attachments.
Hope it helps :)

I always used to be able to save images from my email account on my s3. Recently, I have been unable to save any images from emails. What am I doing wrong? Please help!
ReplyDeleteHi Buddy,
DeleteThanks for write me a comment.
Did you make any changes in your phone before you can't save the picture from your email? But whatever it is, you might want to try to use a file manager available today from the market, such as Astro File Manager or ES File Manager.
Hope it helps :)
Used to be able to save images from my email on my phone and now I cannot. Can you help me?
ReplyDeleteHi Buddy,
DeleteThanks for the visit and comment.
You can read my answer to Anonymous right above you. Seems you have a similar problem with him.
Hope it helps :)
Ok, Well I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3, My Wife Texts me photos from our kids outing when I'm traveling for work. Now I cant download or save the photos. When I click on the menu option there is only SET AS. Set as contact photo, lock screen or home screen. I no longer get an option to save or download to my sd card. I get no other options.
ReplyDeleteHi Joseph,
DeleteI'm so sorry for late answer.
Tap and hold the pictures until a pop up menu is displayed on your screen, here you can select option to save the picture. By default, the downloaded picture will be save to your phone memory. Fortunately, you can change the storage to your SD Card by following the steps below:
1. Go to Apps through Home screen.
2. Tap Messaging.
3. Tap the Menu key.
4. On pop up menu select Settings.
5. Scroll to Attachment Storage, then change to SD card.
Hope it helps :)
Hi. I have the verizon s3 using stock messaging app. I seem to not have that option. Is that a verizon issue or phone problem?
DeleteHi s3Guy,
DeleteThanks for the visit.
You should see save option when you tap and hold a bubble message. Or if your message have circled triangle icon, then tap on it to get the option.
Hope this helps :)

The Samsung Galaxy S3 for Verizon does not have the "Attachment Storage" option under the direction above. I was able to change the default settings for my camera and internet to my SD card but am still not able to find where to do this for MMS. Please help!
Hi Jessica Cevetello Spingola,
DeleteThanks for coming.
If you can't find this option on your Verizon, then you may want to try to use Verizon Messages apps that you can get it for free through Play Store. This apps has a features that will allow you to save your text message or MMS to SD card. Here's the link:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.verizon.messaging.vzmsgs&hl=en
Hope this helps :)
I don't see the the mms circled triangle, but instead a download button. Holding it gave me pop up with no option to save. Tapping the button it proceed to seemingly download but never ends. Menu gave no option to save.
ReplyDeleteHi newtosmart,
DeleteThanks for coming here.
Seems you have a similar problem with Christina who also leave her comment here. As I've said to her, try to tap and hold your mms bubbles until a pop up menu displayed. Here you should see an option to save the picture. When you open the mms on full screen then long press on the picture, there will be no pop up menu displayed. However, please let me know if it works for you.
Hope it helps :)
Can any one tell me how to select a contact photo I can do it on the edit contact bit :(
DeleteHi Callum Neilson,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Did you mean to add photo to certain contact? If so, kindly visit our url about adding photo to contact here:http://inside-galaxy.blogspot.com/2013/06/samsung-galaxy-s3-how-to-add-photo-to.html
Hope this helps :)
I can save photos when the MMS message includes text. When the message has only a photo though (no text), the only option it gives from Menu is "Set as". It appears to open the photo in Gallery. Any idea how to work around this?
ReplyDeleteHi Olives-family,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Try to long tap the image, then you should get the option to save the picture. Usually if you do a single tap on the image, then the pop up menu that appears is the option to open the image in Gallery.
Hope this helps :)
I am seeing the same question over and over- the same problem I am having. Long tapping does not give any option but "set as". I have been having to screen shot all of my photos sent to me via text. Its the most frustrating thing I have encountered on this phone and I am regretting switching from the iphone. I have gone through ALL of the steps you have listed to change my settings and still, cannot save photos.
DeleteHi Crumb Diaries,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Kindly to try to long press on the message while you're in the bubble view of your MMS conversation. This will bring up the option, including with the Save attachment option. If you open up the message in full screen and long press the picture nothing option comes up.
I want to be able to zoom in on my mms pictures. I can only do this with mms' that have no text. Otherwise, I need to save the image, open the Gallery, find the image, open it, then I can zoom. My wife's HTC will always give me the option of opening with Gallery.
ReplyDeleteCan the S3 do this? Is there a better text app that will do this?
Thanks for the help!
Phil
Hi Phil Metty,
DeleteThanks for coming.
CMIIW, tap the image then you'll see the complete action using menu--if you have another file manager app or the app to open the image--, then tap Gallery. The image will be opened by the Gallery app and let you to zoom in the image without you need to save it first.
About another third-party Messaging apps, lot of the Samsung Galaxy S3 user use Handcent or Go SMS pro when they're not satisfied with the stock.
Hope this helps :)
When I plug my samsung galaxy s3 into the computer to upload pics, I only am able to view thumbnails - no pictures. I go to the upper right corner and try to change to medium or large pictures and it only changes the size of the thumbnail. HELP!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie4837,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Yes, you're right. We only can see the thumbnails without picture when connecting the phone with PC using MTP. But, once you copy the picture to the PC, then it'll be a thumbnail with picture.
Hope this helps :)
