Yes, it does. You can see the 4G icon next to the signal strength icon.
I have boost mobile and I can't get it to 4g at all D: I tried What you said and It's still on 3g.
ReplyDeleteHi Beenz Beenz,
DeleteThanks for coming.
What makes you unable to turn on 4G on your phone?
Was it because you can't find the option?
Have you check your area? Is it covering 4G or not?
Hi Rehan, I have Samsung Galaxy S3 US Celluar 4g lte handset.... I have just bought this mobile one month before and using very well. But, since last week, mobile internet is not working, though mobile data option is ON. Can you please help me out.
ReplyDeleteHi CA Rajkumar Tolani,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Have you ever managed to connect to internet before last week? Now, can you connect to internet through Wifi? Or did you made any changes on your phone before you realize that you encountered this problem?
Hello CA Rajkumar, I am using the same model and had a similar issue, what I did was
Delete1>enabled hidden menu by dialing *#22745927
2>entered data edit mode by dialing ##3282# and entered MSL code as 000000
3> under others selected eHRPD as on and under EVDO selected DDMT as on and selected global mode
4> enabled airplane mode and waited till airplane logo appeared and then back to normal mode
and the data was enabled, enjoy....
Hi Sitaram Agarwal,

DeleteThanks for coming.
Please make sure you're on area which is covering 4G network.
Hope this helps :)
Yes I am. I am on the 4g wimax.. ornsomething like that..
DeleteHi Shary Lobato,
DeleteWell, you might should to call your carrier and ask them why you still can't get 4G whereas you're on 4G area and you have turned on 4G setting on your phone.
FYI, I only publish one of your replies because the other one has the similar meaning. I'm so sorry about that.
Dumb question but how do I know if I'm in a 4G area? I followed the steps n LTE/CDMA/EVDO is checked. I do know that when I was recently at the beach my aunt had 4G available ( she has galaxy 5) but I never have it and since I had my phone I never had the 4G logo on mt status bar.
ReplyDeleteHi Erica Rayles,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Have you ever tried to contact your network provider to ask about it? Did the network that your aunt use is the same with yours?
Hey! I think I've got a different handset to you - I've got WCDMA and not CDMA...any ideas on what I could do?
ReplyDeleteHi Cassie,
DeleteThanks for coming.
FYI, CDMA is a 2G technology and WCDMA is a 3G technology that often used in tandem with GSM to provide the user 2G and 3G capability in the same area coverage. So, if you want to turn off 4G LTE, then you can use CDMA or WCDMA as both of them are under 4G technology.

ReplyDeleteHi Kylee Whittington,
DeleteThanks for coming and share your thought here :)
Mine is a verizon galaxy s3 and when i went to download the phone info tool, it said that it is not compatible with my phone
ReplyDeleteI have S3 but my network provider dont have CDMA they have only WCDMA and GSM.
ReplyDeleteModel Number :GT-I9300, Android Version 4.3
Hi Gezim Rexhepi,
DeleteThanks for coming.
CMIIW, CDMA is a 2G technology commonly used in the CDMA-based phones while GSM is a 2G technology commonly used in the GSM-based phone. Because the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 is a GSM-based phone then you'll be provided with GSM(2G) and WCDMA(3G) as its network type.
Guys plz help me i have e210s s3 original korean i cant use 4g i want to use 4g in my mobile networks data network mode selection only show 2 things 3g only and lte prefered in my setting i dont see any thing like that wcdma, lte auto, evdo, cdma plz help me i am using 3g but i want use 4g plz help me i very very thankful to u for this act of kindness plzz
ReplyDeleteHi Xaheer Soomro,
DeleteThanks for coming.
From what I've read, Samsung Galaxy S3 SHV-E210S Only has two network modes: LTE Preferred and 3G only.
When you choose LTE Preferred, your phone automatically switches between the two network modes(3G or LTE/4G) in condition you're within range of a 3G or LTE/4G network, but it will prefer using LTE if available. While if you choose 3G only, your phone can only connect to 3G network.
So, if you have chosen LTE Preferred, but your phone stuck in 3G network, then it may be your area isn't in the LTE coverage(you can call your provider to make sure about it).
But my area is coverage with 4g signal
ReplyDeleteand any different within 4g and 4g lte
Hi Xaheer Soomro,
DeleteThanks for coming back here.
CMIIW, LTE is a part of 4G and it works for data only, therefore when you use your phone to make a call(or other non-data activities) it will fallback to 3G.
Hi Rehan!
ReplyDeleteYou are being very helpful to everyone and that is a good thing. I'm sure everyone really appreciates what you have been doing.
In any case, I have a question for you... I also have a Galaxy S3 (model SGH-1747M) and I have verified the Network Mode is set to use LTE/WCDMA/GSM (Auto connect). I work downtown in a major city and my signal strength is always a 4 bars, yet I have never seen a 4G indicator.
Is there anything else I should be looking at to verify that this phone is setup correctly?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Chris
Hi Chris,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Theoretically, if you select that option, your phone should work fine in 4G/3G/2G networks. Since the phone can switch switch between those networks automatically, it will use the strongest network to provide you a stable connection. No other setting needs to be done on your side, but you can ask your provider to make sure that 4G is available in your area.
Hie i have a samsung galaxy s3 android version 4.3 its locked on 4g no option to change network mode and i would like to change to 2g
