Yes, even in this generation has gained refinement and improvement of the hardware, software and features when compared to its previous generation, but it does not mean the device is free of flaws. Nothing is perfect. Well, taken from digitaltrends.com, here is a list of problems that are often experienced by this phablet, let's check them out:
1. Cracked or broken screen
This phablet comes with a big screen 5.5-inch and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2, which is tough stuff. But some users reported that the device had scratched or cracked after suddenly fall. In the previous drop test, this device can get through it well. And this problem could be the proves to us that larger screen means more difficult to handle.
If you are concerned about having this problem on your phablet, for preventive measures you can start insuring your device or you can buy a case of this device which is available in a variety of choices on the market. And of course you also have to be more careful when putting or carry the device.
But if you have experienced this problem, there are several options you can do:
- Send your phablet to Samsung for repairs.
- Order replacement glass on a local repair shop and replace it by yourself. But before you replace it make sure that this source are reputable.
2. Wi-Fi is not connected, very slow and disconnected
Some users also report that they find it difficult to connect with Wi-Fi, had a very slow pace and disconnecting at random. In some cases, users can not access the internet though Wi-Fi in this phablet is ON. The cause of this problem vary from individual routers to setting in phablet itself.
Well, if you are experiencing this problem, try to do some of the options below:
- Restart Wi-Fi on your phablet, but this is only a temporary solution.
- Rebooting the device and the router.
- Make sure the settings are correct by going to Settings-> Wi-Fi then press the Menu button again and select Advanced and make sure the option Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep is set to Always. Here you can also check whether Wi-Fi timer ON and check the your IP address.
- Check the Smart Wi-Fi app if you use AT & T version.
- Perform Factory reset, but it means that you have to reinstall the app and re-setting your device if you want to use it again.
3. Wi-Fi can not be turned off
This problem occurs on a Sprint customer who can not turn off Wi-Fi on their devices. Usually the cause of this problem is the Connection Optimizer.
If you want to turn off Wi-Fi on your device and experience this problem, then all you have to do is disabling connections optimizer by go to Settings-> More Settings-> Mobile Network -> Disable Connection Optimizer. But it will ON again after you reboot your device.
4. The device can not be in charge
Some reported their Galaxy Note II can not be in charge when they plug it in to the AC adapter or USB port.
Well, if you are experiencing this problem there are several things you can do to overcome them:
- Ensure that the Micro USB port are not covered by the dust and dirt by compressed air to clean it out.
- Reboot your device.
- If you continue to experience this problem even if your USB ports are clean and you also have to do a reboot, then the best solution is to send it to Samsung for repair.
5. The device takes a long time to charge
Some users reported that their device takes longer to charge. Typically these devices take between 2 to 3 hours to charge fully.
If you experience this problem on your device, here's what you can try to do to fix it:
- Make sure you use the correct 2A rated charger.
- Try using another 2A charger if you know this is the cause.
- If both the above solutions give you nothing, then the last step is to contact Samsung for repairs.
6. Sound while charging
Some people complained they found a hissing sound when the Galaxy Note II in charge. cause of this problem is the charger and it is normal. Maybe the sound is there because these devices suck more power.
If you are bothered by the noise, you could try to charge your devices through the USB port on your PC but this will take longer. In addition, you can also try a different charger or try to lower-rated charger that will charge your device more slower, but it will also cause noise, but not as hard as a regular charger. If you still feel disturbed by the sound of it, it might be better if you charge your devices in another room so that it will no longer bother you.
Six problem I wrote above is a common problem reported by Galaxy Note II's users. May be out there many other issues going on and have not been reported yet. So if you experience another problem that not listed here yet, so I'm very happy if you are willing to share it through the comments below :)
Why do you have to plagiarise other people's work and paste it on your blog?

DeleteHi droid guys,
DeleteI recently fired my old Samsung Note II device up after it had been in a long hibernation. I believe that it may be a hardware issue I am facing, as I do not remember red scales on the back and front of the device. They seem to be natural, but they really occlude my view and ability to use the touch screen. It has not been able to fly since it broke its wing, and its ability to breath fire has diminished considerably since the water damage... Could this be a sign that the battery in the device is starting to go?
I will try to give it some fresh air this weekend.
Best regards,
Mr. Wesley Berg
my mobile samsung note 2 is getting switch off after 3min . Wat mudt be the problem
ReplyDeleteHi Piyush,
DeletePreviously, I would like to know, did your Note 2 always switch off every 3 minutes? Since when did it happen? Did you make any changes in your Note 2 before it happened?
I bought a note 2 a week back. Since the very first day my network suddenly goes away if I do not use my phone for a while. I have to again restart the phone in order to get network. There is no network problem where I stay and also this problem pertains irrespective of the fact where I am. I have even tried changing my sim card... please guide me on this
ReplyDeleteHi Mihir Viroff,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Did you have contacting your carrier and ask them whether they could help you about this. May it associated with hardware issue. If you still have warranty, you may want to return it to get the new one.
Hope this helps :)
Hi my samsung note 2 its automatically shut down and I can't open it pls help me..thanks
ReplyDeleteHi Jann Dumalag,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Did you made any changes before you were encountered this problem? What you mean with "can't open it"? Does it shutdown and can't turned on again?
I'm facing the same issue. Suddenly it shut down automatically and it's unable to turn on again. Any solution on this ??
DeleteHi Buddy,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Try to remove the battery for a few minutes and then charge the phone for an hour or so. Next, try to turn on your phone. If available, try to change your battery/charger to make sure that your battery/charger has no problem.
My note 2 does not make default sounds when I turn off or turn on or restart. Is there any settings available to turn off/on this feature.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Hi lsam Sand,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Does your phone rooted? Because in non rooted Galaxy Note 2, by default there is no option to disable start up or shut down sound.
i bought note 2 less than 2 months ago , from the 3rd day i started noticing that my phone automatically reboots mostly while i am on a call and i also noticed that it's screen keep on blinking randomly in every 10 minutes (or less than that and sometimes no blinking at all) sometimes it's screen get on automatically. i performed factory reset and two days back i also took the phone to the service center, they just re installed the same software but i am still facing the screen blinking problem though my phone has not rebooted since then kindly help me !
ReplyDeleteHi Kartikey Sharma,
DeleteThanks for coming.
I found so many Note 2 user experienced the same problem with you. Here are the solution they were did to solve the problem:
1. Try to check your battery. does it swelling? or does it not fit as it used to? Some user reported they were find their battery swelling and replace with the new one, and the problem is solved.
2. Try to restart your phone while charging then see whether the problem is still there or not.
Hope this helps :)
Hi rehan, Thanks for the help :) .... but it didn't worked for me .. i took a close look of the battery , it looks normal no signs of swelling and it also fits well. i also restarted the cell while charging but this also didn't worked, my cell's screen is still blinking let me know if you have any other tips or tricks for the same.
Deleteexcuse me for probing into your query, As I have a similar problem with my Note. its more than year old now, and i have a similar screen flickering problem when the battery gets lower to even around 70%, also my battery is showing signs of a bulge to eventually begin. And well the problem does not appear while it is being charged. I understand from many such blogs that this could be due to the aged battery but all that iam puzzled about is what could i have possibly done to the battery that it has lasted only a year unlike few friends of mine whose batteries are living successfully even after 2years. By the way i have not replaced the battery yet, any suggestion how i could get a best battery.
DeleteHi Arun J,
DeleteThanks for coming.
CMIIW, although we use the same battery and phone, but we probably will not have the same end. Aside from the life time of the battery, usage and maintance can also affect the age of the battery itself. I've written about a few ways that the user can do to get better battery life for the Galaxy S3, I'm sure you can also do this for your Galaxy Note 2. Here's the link:http://inside-galaxy.blogspot.com/2013/03/3-things-to-do-to-get-better-battery.html
And about what the best battery for your phone, it will be better if you always use a original or Samsung approved battery.
Hope this helps :)
how about the SDS...
ReplyDeleteHi Hyntz Mercado,
DeleteThanks for coming.
SDS in Samsung Galaxy note 2 likely cause by the phone's eMMC chip that contains your phone's RAM. This chips can become corrupted, and it will causes crashes and instability. From all the articles or thread I've been read, there are 3 ways that you can do:
1. Upgrade your Note 2 to Android 4.1.2 because Samsung has put a fix inside it.
2. If your Note 2 is a 16GB with model number GT-N7100, then try to install the eMMC Brickbug Check apps to check whether the memory chip is vulnerable or not. Here's the link:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.vinagre.android.emmc_check
3. Try to install Dummy File Generator to trigger the bug. Some of user said that their phone more stable after installing this apps. Here's the link:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.nomunomu.dummy
Hello

Reinstall the software 4.1.1 and the problem still i bought kaspersky antivirous and scan the phone and it give no virous plz can u help me to find a sollution thx
Hi Abed Baba,
DeleteThanks for coming.
AFAIK, one of thing caused the phone freezing is low internal memory, so you can try to uninstall unused apps or widget, clear apps cache and data, turn off Window animation scale and Transition animation scale, then see whether it helps :)
Dr Rehan
ReplyDeleteI have a good information on phone and i know about the cause of full memory but afer i install the version of 4.1.2 i did not install any app and the phone still freezing and reset the phone and i cant open any app quickly the phone will be freez either its cam for facebook or whatsapp any thing and also if i did not open any app it freez
So my direct question is :
Like this problems is it from software of the phone or may be virous or any anther causes
Hi Abed Baba,
DeleteI'm so sorry if my previous answer is useless for you. However, have you tried to unmount the SD card--if available--and/or change the battery? a bad SD card or battery sometimes leads the phone to freeze.
my note 2 shut down and wont open anymore, need help please.
ReplyDeleteHi Ralph Jennie Alindayu,
DeleteThank you for coming.
Did you make any changes before you had this problem? Or did you see some error before your phone shut down? Let the battery goes flat sometime make the phone will not turn on. So, try to charge the phone until 100% then try to turn the phone on again.
Hope this helps :)
nope. i didnt do anything to my phone, im just playing games and afterwards browsing my facebook account, then i left my phone on my cabinet, when i get back, the phone was already off, i tried to open it,but nothing happens, i also tried to charge it but still it not work,no indicating lights that its charging, its been 4 days, but up to now it still shut down.
DeleteHi Ralph Jennie Alindayu,
DeleteThanks for getting back on me.
If it's new and still under warranty, try to return it then ask whether you can get replacement for it.
I dropped my Galaxy Note 2 months ago and it still worked. Then the only way to use the features were to put it on speaker. Then I could only charge my phone with my car and house charger, then suddenly it would be on the charger all day and not charging. Now it wont come on or charge. Could the USB port be damaged or the cracked screen?
ReplyDeleteHi Juanita Taylor,
DeleteThanks for coming.
If the phone is still under warranty, then it'll be best if you send back the phone to your carrier to get a fix or replacement.
When I first plug my note 2 while off the charging battery pops up for a second while the loading icon does not spin why is that? an also no green shows at all.
ReplyDeleteAlso I tryed a fully charged battery an it worked grate but then again I try charging it an nothing while off it did chrge on but went away after trying to charge while off an turning it back on it didn't show the thunder bolt
ReplyDeleteHi Thomas Alford,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Have you ever tried to use another Samsung battery and/or charger? Just to make sure that the problem is not them. Another, if your phone is still under warranty, then you might be want to send the phone back to Samsung to get a fix or replacement.
Hope this helps :)
i need help, my note 2 blackout all of sudden as im playing games,i tried to turn it off n on it again but it still cant see anything
ReplyDeletehow to solve this problems
Hi 小轩,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Try these possible steps to fix the problem:
1. Try to remove and re-insert the battery then turn on the phone.
2. Try to turn on the phone without SIM card and SD card.
3. A user in XDA-developer forums said that he has managed to fix this problem by flashing the stock room using the PC odin in the download mode. But, this step is risky and could brick your phone if you don't do that properly.
4. If it's still under the warranty, better you send back the phone to get a fix or replacement.
Hope this helps :)
I dropped my note 2 the screen cracked now it won't connect to wifi .
ReplyDeletemy note2 dropped accidentally and screen cracked but it starts and is connected to WiFi and I'm receiving short vibrations due to msgs and.seems. it is okay. but it does. not.connect to charger or pc.
ReplyDeleteHi Danny Clarke and Sukhraj,
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming.
Seems both of you have the same problem, dropped your Note 2 and then got a problem, I guess it's a hardware issue. If both of your phone are still under warranty, it'll be better you send it back to Samsung to get a fix or replacement.
I'm trying to recover pictures and data from my note 2 with a cracked screen. When I plug it in to my computer's usb port, it won't show up at all on my computer
ReplyDeleteHi Dawson McAndrew,
DeleteThanks for coming.
Did you manage to connect your Note 2 with your PC in the past? What's your PC operating system(Windows or Mac)? Did you receive any error message when you plugged in your phone to the PC?
Hi Phap Phal,
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming.
Make sure the charger that's being used is the one that came with your note 2.
good day sir,
ReplyDeleteI have a problem about my wifi..I already rooted this one from 4.4.2 before but the imei is unrecognize so I have to turn it back to 4.3 now it works very fine..last two days the wifi problems occur...it suddenly disconnected and appear stating internet slow cannot connect...I somehow doubt it..because previously even how slow the internet the wifi still connected not like this is going to disconnected. I am afraid to factory setting it might be back to imei problem...if ever I use factory setting to my phone does it all my apps be erase specially the supersu?. I already tried the settings *#0011# nothing change it still disconnect every 15 to 20mins
Hi Hyntz Mercado,
DeleteThanks for coming.
I noticed when Android 4.3 Jelly Bean was launched at the first time, lot of users confirmed that they encountered Wi-Fi connection issue (connected-disconnected constantly). I spent the last couple days to investigate your issue, there are some solutions that you can try:
1. Try forgetting the Wi-Fi network profile from your phone and then re-scanning.
2. Make sure the "Auto network switch" in the Wi-Fi advanced menu is turned off (if it already off, turn it on and then back off).
3. Turn off Wi-Fi power save mode from the service menu without rebooting the phone.
4. Try restarting your router.
5. Try to use single band instead of mix band in your router.
As a note, there's a user in XDA developer forums confirmed that factory reset didn't solve Wi-Fi connection problem.
hi sir good day...
ReplyDeleteI already rooted my gt-n7100 note 2 version 4.3 from previous I rooted this 4.4.2 kitkat but I having problem of imei so what I did I have to return to old verdion which is 4.3 now its all ok but since last 2days my wifi always disconnected and it stated wifi disable bec.internet connection is slow...I am sure this not connection problem bec even without connection if you have a wifi you can still connect but no internet am I correct.now hoe can isolve this matter. thanks
My wife's note 2 SCH-I605 (Verizon) wanted to turn the side to side motion feature on, I allowed the feature then her screen dimmed then went off, When I pushed the power button to turn screen back on nothing? It had been getting hot near the motion sensor so I replaced with a new one(before the shut off happened) everything was going fine, But it shutoff like I said earlier and won't come back on. I can't enter any mode as it wont come on its unresponsive. I have just purchased two OEM batteries and still nothing, Have a OEM charger new still nothing? When I hook it up to the Computer or charger nothing no battery icon or LCD light? The SKU is SCHI605ZWV if that helps. All I want is someone to point me in the right direction whether its a motherboard replacement or what ever? Can I ask would a bad power button stop it from charging or showing the battery icon when charging? Can a bad USB charging port stop it from turning on? Need a list of possible things that would stop all functions from working and not turning on? Its not rooted have the official 4.4.2 update from Verizon.
