Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Turn On or Off Wi-Fi

There are several useful features that are owned by the Samsung Galaxy S3 which works with Wi-Fi support, such as Wi-Fi Direct that will allow you to transfer files at speeds up to 300Mbps.

How to enable Wi-Fi?
As written on videotron.tmtx.ca, to enable Wi-Fi on your phone then kindly following the steps below:
  1. Tap on Menu key on Home screen.
  2. On the pop up menu select Settings.
  3. Swipe the switch next to Wi-Fi option to the right to turn it on.
  4. Finish. Now Wi-Fi on your phone has been activated.

How to disable Wi-Fi?
From the same source, if you want to disable Wi-Fi on your phone, then just following the steps below:
  1. Tap on Menu key on Home screen.
  2. On the pop up menu select Settings.
  3. Swipe the switch next to Wi-Fi option to the left to turn it off.
  4. Finish. Now Wi-Fi on your phone has been disabled.

  1. My S3 self enables wifi all the time. In other works it turns it on without my telling it to. Since i have unlimted internet I do NOT want this to happen. When it does i actually cannot get emails or on Facebook. what can you tell me about that?

      Thanks for coming.
      Try to go to Settings> More settings> Mobile Network> Automatic connections> uncheck the top option.
      Or if your phone is Sprint then try to go to setting> More settings> Mobile networks> Automatic Connections> uncheck Sprint automatic connection.

  2. Hi Rehan,

    I have connected to the Wifi. But now the Wifi encryption key has changed. How do I change this key on my Galaxy? Whenever I click on this network, I do not get the option of changing the encryption key and the phone tries to connect using the older password. It even shows connected - but cannot connect as the password for the network has changed.

      Try to forget the network then re-connect. Or try to add network manually, this will allow you to enter the new password for the network.
