    1. Hi There,
Thanks for your visit and comment.
After reading your issue, you may want to try these tips:
      1. Try to access the internet with a different browser. At least it will show you if the problem is your browser or Wi-Fi network.
      2. Try to connect to another Wi-Fi network. This will show you if the problem is the Wi-Fi network or your phone.
      3. Also try to check whether you are in a low or week signal area or not. Low signal may cause the internet can't work well or even stop anymore.
      4. Try to delete that Wi-Fi network setup completely from your phone then set it up again.
      5. Call *#0011#, it will take the phone into service menu. Tap menu key-> select Wifi-> Disable Wifi powersaving mode.

Hope one of these tips can help you :)

      Thanks for coming.
Previously, have you ever managed to connect to the wifi? Or this is the first time for you to connect to the wifi? Did you receive any notifications or alert on your phone associated with the wifi connection?

    4. I too cannot connect to my wifi and I know the password is correct. I have tried countless times and sometimes after 20 tries it might connect but I have no problem with my other devices connecting to the wifi. I think something is wrong with the Samsung galaxy 3 device, several people have the same issue!

    5. Hi TammyBeck,
      Thanks for coming.
The Wi-Fi password are case sensitive(A is different with a), so make sure you have entered them correctly. Other way, try to forget the Wi-Fi network profile and then try to re-connect. If it not works, try to forget the network again and then try to add the network profile manually. Enter network SSID(Wi-Fi name) correctly. If the lenght of your Wi-Fi password are less than 8 chars choose WEP as security, while if they're equal or more than 8 chars choose WPA/WPA2/FT PSK as security. Now, type the password correctly(you can enable the "Show password" option to help you ensure that the password are entered correctly), tap Connect button and then see whether it helps :)

    1. Hi Jerald Acido,
      Thanks for coming.
Here are some possible ways that may be able to solve your problem.
      1. Try to go Settings > Accounts&sync > enable Background data. Once you've finished, on Settings> Accounts&sync > Add account > Google > create or log in.
      2. Restart your phone without the SIM card then try to connect to WiFi network so you can login to your Google Account. This will log you into the account, and then you can put the SIM card back.
3.Try to sign into the YouTube app with the account you want to sync. This will automatically add it to the list of your accounts. But, ensure you are sign in to the YouTube app, not the website.

Finally, let me know if one of these steps works for you.
      Hope this helps :)

    1. Hi Alexa Helton,
Thank for coming and also I'm so sorry for late reply.
FYI, I'm not an expert on Wi-Fi but I was worked in the online payment dept that using Wi-Fi as the connection for five years or so. Given to your problem, the causes may occurs at the phone side or the modem side so try to do these things:
      On your phone:
      - Try to restart your phone then try to connect again.
      - Try to connect with another Wi-Fi then see does the phone still encountered the same problem? scanning then disabled. If so, the problem is in your phone. If not, then the problem is in your modem.

      On your modem:
      - Try to restart the modem and check the signal whether is it weak or strong enough to get connection.
      - Make sure all the setting is correct.
      - Try to change the setting to bgn to allow all the device connect with it.
      - Try to soft reset the modem through the settings page.
      - The last, try to hard reset the modem then re-settings the modem again (This will remove all the settings).

Finally, let me know if it works for you :)

I failed to connect, but then selected forget in the hope that I I would be be able to try another password. Now for this wifi and also for every other password protected point the connect button is greyed out. Nothing seems to fix this including hardware reset. Regards Mark

    1. Hi Simone Willemse,
      Thanks for coming.
AFAIK, there's no way to let the phone know the password in the Wi-Fi profile that you already deleted. So, try to ask your Wi-Fi provider to obtain the correct password so you can connect to the Wi-Fi network.
      Hope this helps :)

Did it happens only with certain Wi-Fi network or also happens with all Wi-Fi network you're trying to connect to? However, try to forget the network and reconnect again then see whether it helps :)

  9. Hi. I have a 7 digit password for my Wi-Fi but the S3 doesn't enable until the user has entered 8 digits. Changing the Wi_Fi password is not an option. Is there a way to enter and connect to Wi_Fi on an S3 with a 7 character password?
    Thanks

    1. Hi Coach,
      Thanks for coming.
Please note that this step is untested due I don't have access to the Wi-Fi network with the password less than 8 digit. But, it's not hurt if you try this steps. Well, here they are:
      1. Open Wi-Fi settings menu.
      2. Long tap to the Wi-Fi network profile (which you have failed to connect to) and then select "Forget network".
      3. Tap "Add Wi-Fi network".
      4. Type the Network SSID correctly (it's case sensitive which the capital letter is different with the small letter).
      5. Choose WEP as the security option (FYI, WEP requires minimal 5 characters to connect, so theoretically you should be able to connect to your network which is has 7 digit password).
      6. Type the password correctly (you can tick the "Show password" option to help you ensure the password is entered correctly).
      7. Tap "Connect" button and then see whether it helps :)

    2. Hi I have the same problem as the coach and I've tried the 7 step solution but still no result, in fact I can't make my s4 "forget" the wifi name so that I could type it myself, manually. and when I do it it just doesn't do anything.. it doesn't connect.. any other ideas?

    3. Hi Demetre,
      Thanks for coming.
Sadly to say that I can't test to connect to a WEP network because I have no access to that network. However, have you ever managed to connect to that network from another device? If you have access to the router, you can try to change the security to WPA-PSK.

  10. Excuse me I got a Samsung s3. I downloaded apparently and started using it without a sim card but now I got one and the internet was high without the don't card but ever since I put the don't card in, the signal for my wi-fi has a low low range. On my other devices they have a Good range of Wi-Fi so how can I fix this.

    3. I have no idea, but you can try to forget all of network profiles under Wi-Fi menu in your S3 and then try to re-connect to your Wi-Fi network. If it uses password, make sure the password is entered correctly.

  12. Excuse me. I have a samsung galaxy s3 and I can not connect to my the wifi at all. My mom created the wifi and set it up for me and my sisters to use. I used to be able to connect to the wifi, but now I am the only one in my house that can not use it. Every time I try connecting to this network it says that an "Authentication error occurred". I have even tried to 're type the password and try connecting to it repeatedly, and also connecting to other networks. What can I do to fix this?

    1. Hi Eve Gibbs,
      Thanks for coming.
Since you mentioned in your comment that you were able to connect to your Wi-Fi network in the past, then could you remember what have you done before you realized that you couldn't connect to your Wi-Fi network(e.g: change the settings/install any apps/update OS)?
However, try the following steps and then see whether it helps:
      1. Ask your mother to restart Wi-Fi in your home.
      2. Forget the Wi-Fi network profile on your phone(long tap the Wi-Fi network name and then select "Forget network") and then try scanning and reconnecting. If it uses password, make sure the password is entered correctly.
      3. Try turning on the Airplane/Flight mode and then back off. In some cases, it did the trick.

  13. Hi everybody, I have a following problem. Whenever I try to connect to a new (not previously connected to) Wi Fi network (e.g. at the restaurants), after entering the password my phone makes the connection and immediately restarts. After that it restarts over and over again (kind of loop) and the only way to stop restarting is to turn off the Wi Fi connection procedure by turning off the WiFi option. What can I do to solve this problem? Thank you very much in advance! Valentina
