In addition, you can also add shortcuts to your home screen to enable you to access applications and documents that you have on your phone. But to create a shortcut for the document or picture you need to use the help of file manager app, such as ES File Explorer or Astro File Manager.

How to create a shortcut on Home screen using ES File Explorer?
By using this file manager app you can create shortcuts to documents, images, folders etc on your Home screen for quick access. As written on webcazine.com, here are the steps if you use ES File Manager:
  1. Download Install ES File Explorer through Google Play Store.
  2. Once you finish installing ES File Explorer on your phone, then launch it.
  3. On this app, browse the document you want to use as shortcuts.
  4. Long tap on the selected document.
  5. In the pop-up menu that appears select Shortcut.
  6. Finish. Shortcut to the selected document will be created and placed on the Home screen of your phone.

How to create a shortcut on Home screen using Astro File Manager?
From the same source, if you want to use this app as your file manager app to create shortcut, then here are the steps:
  1. Download install Astro File Manager through Google Play Store.
  2. Select Widgets tab on the apps list.
  3. Here you can find a 1x1 Astro File Manager widget by scrolling to the left or to the right on the widget panel.
  4. Add the widget to the Home screen by tap and hold it.
  5. Now, browse the document you want to create as a shortcut using Astro File Manager.
  6. Tap on the OK button.
  7. Finish. Shortcut to the selectd document will be created and placed on the Home screen of your phone.
