  1. I have as many as 3 entries for each Contact. Merging didn't help. What can I do to get each contact mentioned only once?

    1. Hi Ruti Mizrachi,
      Thanks for coming.
Normally, once you've merged some contacts, the numbers or email from them will be merge into a single contact. So, did your contacts still mentioned more than once even though you already merged them? Or, the contacts you've merged has the same numbers? If so, try to only display contacts from your phone only. To see the complete steps, kindly visit our post about it here:http://inside-galaxy.blogspot.com/2013/07/samsung-galaxy-s3-how-to-remove.html
      Hope this helps :)

      Thanks for coming.
In the Contact app, tap the Menu key then select Settings. Tick the checkbox next to "Only contact with phone" to enable this option. Enable this option will made your phone only display contacts that have phone number.

  2. Hi there, I recently got a samsung tablet with sim and a samsung phone, using sync and bavkup. I transferred my contacts which were extensive on my old dumb phone and spli r them between two new sims to retreve them. Now I have lots of duplicates as you described.

Now my question is if I merge them do they get backed up like that and is it then save top delete them from the sim card later so I hands a clean clutter free collection of contracts? A nd if its in scync mode, if I celery from deeps is deleted from cloud storsge too, whats the best practice for toys situation?

My main concern was if I merge my contavts, do they see hpw up as merged on the cloud storage? So if I delete the excess duplicates, will they be deleted from thier original source too? Is thiz just to tidy up the phone/ tablet?
    Mamy thanks, Kathryn

    1. Hi Kathryn Erskine,
      Thanks for coming.
Can you please tell me what's your old phone? Does your old phone has a feature to export contacts to the .vcf file? If it has, it'd better if you export your contacts to .vcf file and then import the file to your new phone and save the contact to your phone storage.
FYI, if you save a contact in phone storage then you will be allowed to add more than one number and also information within the contact, but SIM card only allows you to save a single number in a single contact. I think it's causing you to have many duplicate contacts.

when when i text someone i have duplicate contacts appear in the list.. which is crazy as there are no duplicate contacts in my list!
i have my contacts stored on my phone so that i can have images to identify the caller.. so what appears is the contact list is one with the image
and then underneath the same contact minus the image

has anyone else come across this weird problem and how do i rectify it please?
