Review : Samsung Galaxy S4 Specifications, Release Date and Price

Finally, the latest flagship smartphone from Samsung named Samsung Galaxy SIV arrives in unpacked event in New York on Thursday this week. Before it was announced, this most awaited gadget is getting more attention from many people and dominate the news on gadgets. And it looks like Samsung's decision to announce this device in an exclusive event likely was groundless because the device is truly remarkable. Almost all of the expectations that exist in the rumours that circulated earlier can be found on the device.

How does it look like?
This phone comes with smaller dimensions than its predecessor 5.38x2.34x0.5 inches with a thickness only 7.9mm and weighs only 130 grams. With a lighter phone, it will surely add to the convenience of users when using this.

For its body, the phone is still using the same material as that used by the Samsung Galaxy SIII, polycarbonate chassis. What distinguishes it is the body is equipped with metal banding arround the side. It makes this phone look elegant and more premium, although the material remains from plastic.


What are the New Features and Technology Inside?
Although this phone comes less than its predecessor, but Samsung has put the technology, hardware, software and extraordinary features in it. One of them is the most frequently discussed in the previous rumor that the use of eye tracking technology that will support the features such as smart stay -as in the Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note II-, smart scroll and smart pause. Smart stay features will allow your phone's screen stay on as long as your eyes see it. And with the smart scroll the screen will automatically scroll down when your eyes touch the bottom of the screen and vice versa. While with the smart pause you will probably to pause the video when you do not see it and it will automatically play when you see it. Cool, isn't it?

Another interesting feature present in this phone is Samsung's Knox security features, this feature will be very useful if you want a separation between work and personal stuff on your mobile phone. In addition, there is S Voice Drive features that will be very useful for drivers who like and often do multitasking while driving, for example you can navigate your phones using your voice while you are driving your vehicle.

Some other new features are included in this phone are:
  1. Dual camera: This feature allows you to take photos and videos using the front and rear camera simultaneously. Then you can blend the resulting picture or video together. I still can not imagine how this would look like :D
  2. Story album: This feature allows you to incorporate your friends into a single photo album. This feature also integrated by Trip Advisor that you can use to add more location-based details, and you can also print any album through self-publishing platform Blurb.
  3. Group play: This feature allows you to enjoy the photograph, music and games with the people around you without the need to connect to Wi-Fi or cellular signal.
  4. Air View: This feature allows you to preview the email, gallery etc with just hover your finger to preview without having to open them.
  5. Air gesture: This feature allows you to access anything on the screen without having to actually touch the screen. You just need to hover your finger over them to access them.
  6. S health software: This feature will provide you with updated information about health and healthy lifestyles through your mobile phone.

Availability, Release Date, Price and Colours
Well, finally we arrive at the most awaited thing. In a surprise this phone will be available on 327 carriers in 155 countries and will be released on April, 26th 2013. Until now Samsung has yet to confirm what the price will be set for the Galaxy SIV, but at this time price expectations range between USD$725 or AUD$695. This phone will be available in two colours: White Frost and Black Mist. Samsung also said that the additional colour will be available later.
