This phone also allow you to make a video call by utilizing its camera and its capabilities to connect to 3G network. Video call of course will provide you different experience of making a call. If in a basic call, you can only hear a voice, but with video call you can hear a voice and see the one who talk to you, it would be like you are speaking directly in front of him.

Before you can do this thing, ensure that your phone is connected to 3G network. So, here are the steps:

  2. Tap Phone.
  3. Tap the Keypad tab.

    1. Hi Megan Wallace,
Thanks for leave your comment here.
First, make sure you are connected to the 3G network before you make a video call. And for the record, I just knew from the XDA developer forums that video call option is only on the unlock version of the Galaxy S3, all US variants does not have this option. So, if you want to make a video call then you can try to use apps that will allow you to do this, such as Skype or Google Talk or else.
      Hope it helps :)

I'm so sorry if this article doesn't work for you. Unfortunately, this option is not available in all variants of Galaxy S3. So, when you still want to make a video call, you may want to try to install certain apps that will allow you to do so, such as Skype or Google Talk.

    1. Hi Nasif Hasan,
      Thanks for coming here.
Due to I don't know exactly about Sony Xperia, it'll better if you read your Xperia's book or ask with your carrier to know whether you're able or not to make a video call. But from what I've known this phone has no native video calls apps or feature, but you can still make a video call by using another apps, such as Skype, Tango, Gtalk etc.
      Hope this helps :)

Seems this option only available in the International version. However, you could try to call your provider to ask them whether this feature is supported by the network or not.

Make sure the person in another end point has the feature to make a video call in their phone. Another way, you can try to call your provider, some of them sometimes need to activate certain feature in their network manually.

  10. This article is INCREDIBLY misleading. There should be a disclaimer at the beginning of the article saying that this option is only available on the International version, as I know a lot of people don't scroll through comments to see others' experience.

AFAIK, we can't make video call using Wi-Fi. You need to connect with 3G network to do so. But, make sure that your network provider and the other device support with video call feature.

      Thanks for coming.
FYI, I'm in 3G network coverage and I use my phone(International version) to make video call several times with no problem.
Theoretically, we should be able to make video call in 4G network, but to make sure you can try asking about it to your provider.

Make sure the other party and your network provider support the video call feature.
Other solution, if the other party uses Android phone and has Hangouts app, then you can try to make a video call with him using Hangouts app (it works by using internet connection).

    1. Hi Mr Miracle,
      Thanks for coming.
FYI, the video call requires the following things to work:
      1. You're in 3G network.
      2. The other party supports with video call feature.
      3. The video call feature has been enabled by the network provider (some carriers or providers need to activate this feature manually).

But, seems you already have all of these things, then the last possibilities are hardware defect or the app(you can try performing clear cache for the Phone app).
However, have you tried to make a video call with other apps in your phone(e.g: Hangouts, Skype, etc)?

    3. Hi Willy Willy,
      Thanks for coming.
FYI, in some model numbers, the video call feature is available, but in some other is not.
I have three Samsung phones and all of them have video call features by default, and there are no option to disable this feature.
However, you can try asking your service provider. They usually able to either activate or deactivate some features, including with the video call feature.
