Samsung Galaxy SIII has a multitask ability which will allow you to do more than one task at the same time with this phone, such as jump between apps or close all running apps.

Other multitask that you can do with this phone is accessing the notifications bar while you're running the apps or watching video on full screen. This of course will useful if you want to open the notification panel and get the quick controls without having to close the apps you're currently running.

How to open notification bar while running apps?
Below are the steps you need to do:
  1. While you're running the apps or watching the video on full screen, tap and hold the top area of your phone screen then drag it downwards to open the notification bar.
  2. Drag downwards again to open notification panel and quick controls. Whilst you're opening it, the video or apps will continue running in the background.
  3. Drag it upwards to close the notification bar.

It's easy, right? By knowing this methods, now you will be able to open or close the notification without closing the apps or video you're currently running. So, hope this helps :)
