Yap, the developer menu option is actually intended for the developers purposes, so if you're a basic user then better you leave them in default to avoid you experience an unexpected situations. For example, some users said that their phone displays the flashing red border around the screen and thinks that it's a problem. Apparently, this is because they were accidentally activate the strict mode option under developer option menu. The strict mode is used to inform the developers when the apps perform long operations on main thread by displaying a flashing red frame around the screen. Given the cause, so the way to fix this issue is by disabling the strict mode option.

How to disable Strict Mode?
Below are the steps to do so:
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Scroll down and find the Developer option, then tap it.
  3. Under the Monitoring section, uncheck the checkbox next to the Strict mode option to disable it.
  4. Now, restart your phone.

Indeed, not all users are experiencing this problem, but by knowing about it, at least when you encounter this issue on your phone then you can fix it by yourself quickly and certainly you don't need to worry and think that your phone is damaged. So, hope this helps :)
