Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Remove Picasa Album from Gallery App

Aside from retrieving pictures from the photo files you saved in your device, you can also set your Samsung Galaxy SIII to retrieve pictures from another source outside the phone, for instance you can display your Facebook pictures gallery in the Gallery app. But, if you don't want the Facebook album show up there, you can set the Gallery not to display them or you can stop the device not to sync with your Facebook account.

Another album that might be shown in the Gallery app is Picasa album. This may happen because you have set your Google account to sync with the Picasa web album. Well, if you also don't want this album show up in your Gallery app, then you can remove them by setting the phone to stop syncing with Picasa web album.

How to remove Picasa album in Gallery app?
Below are the steps you need to do:
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Account and sync.
  3. Tap your Google account.
  4. Uncheck the checkbox next to Sync Picasa Web albums to stop the device sync with Picasa web albums .
  5. Go back to Settings menu.
  6. Tap Application manager.
  7. Swipe to the All screen.
  8. Find the Gallery app, then tap it.
  9. Tap Clear data button followed by tapping the OK button to confirm clearing the data. You don't need to worry, this process will not make you lose any picture.
  10. Now, you can try to open the Gallery app and let it to refresh. The Picasa album should not appear in the Gallery app.

For the record, this steps only stop the sync process between the device and Picasa web albums to make the Gallery not displaying the Picasa album. All of photos that you already synced with the Picasa web albums still remain there. You can access them through the Picasa web from the Browser app. So, hope this helps :)
