I. Filtering content on Gallery app
The first methods that you can do is by setting the content you like to show in the Gallery app. Here's the step:
  1. Open Gallery app.
  2. Tap the Menu key then select View by option.
  3. On the pop up menu select Content in device option. when the radio button next to the option shows green means the option is selected.
  4. Now, the Gallery app will only show the pictures and videos you have saved in your device.

II. Clear the app data and remove Facebook account
The second method is by clearing the Facebook and Gallery app data followed by removing Facebook account then sign in back into your Facebook account. Here the complete steps to do so:
  1. Clear Facebook and Gallery App Data.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Tap Application manager.
    • Swipe to the All screen.
    • Find a Facebook app, then tap it.
    • Tap Clear Data button followed by clicking the OK button to confirm clearing the data.
    • Tap Back button.
    • Find Gallery app, then tap it.
    • Tap Clear Data button followed by clicking the OK button to confirm clearing the data.
  2. Remove Facebook account from sync settings.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Tap Accounts and sync.
    • Tap your Facebook account.
    • Tap the Remove account button followed by clicking the Remove account button to confirm deleting your Facebook account.
  3. Sign in back into Facebook
    • Open Facebook app.
    • Sign in back to your Facebook by entering your user name and password.
    • Once you're in the sync settings screen, make sure not to check any syncing of pictures option.
  4. Now, Open Gallery app from the app drawer.
  5. The Facebook gallery should no longer appear on the Gallery app.

You can use one of two methods mentioned above to remove Facebook photos from Gallery app. For the record, the first method only serves to filter the content that is displayed on your Gallery with Facebook gallery keep in sync with your phone, while the second method will completely deleting Facebook photo from the Gallery app and will not sync the Facebook gallery with your phone. Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Get Out from Incognito Mode

Incognito mode is one of feature available inside Browser app in Samsung Galaxy SIII. When you browse the web under the incognito mode, then the page won't appear in the browser history, the download files won't appear in the download history and the cookies will wiped out once you closed the page. Browse the page under this mode of course will help you if you want to access something important or a sensitive data without having to leave any trace.

How to get out from incognito mode?

  1. Open Browser app.
  2. If you're in incognito mode, tap the Thumbnails of active browser windows icon.
  3. Here you should see the plus (+) icon and the Incognito icon.
  4. Find the incognito tab that's open, then tap the Red minus button on the top right of the tab to get back to the regular mode.
  5. Tap the Bookmark icon .
  6. You can choose to tap either the History or Saved pages.
  7. Tap and hold an entry from the list to get the pop up menu.
  8. Tap Set as homepage to assign the selected entry as the new homepage.
  9. Now, try to close the app then open it again.
  10. The browser will load the new homepage in a regular mode.

Well, your thought might be right, the step mentioned above actually not removing the incognito completely, but this will allow you to switch between the incognito and the regular mode, as well as prevent you to enter the incognito mode each time you open the Browser app. However, if you know another methods to do so and they are not listed here, then I'll appreciate if you willing to share them through the comment below :)

Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Use the Incognito Feature in the Browser App

As one of pre-installed app in Samsung Galaxy SIII, You can directly use the Browser app without having to install it first. You can use this app to browse the web, read online magazine, etc. By default, the app will record all of your browsing activities to help you more easier to track what you have searched before. But, if you don't want to keep them, you can easily remove them from there. As we all know that lot of caches will make the browser run more slower and heavier.

Aside from manually clearing the histories, you can also utilize incognito feature inside this app which will make the page you open will not appear in the browser history after you close the page. This of course will useful if you want to browse any web page without leaving any trace.


How to use incognito mode?
Below are the steps to do so:
  1. Open Browser app.
  2. Tap Thumbnails of active browser windows iconlocated in the upper right corner.
  3. To use incognito mode, tap the Incognito iconin the upper right corner.
  4. The incognito page will opened and explained in the screen. The page will marked with the incognito icon in the left of address bar.
  5. Now, you're ready to browse the webs by typing in the URL in the address bar to navigate the web you wish to visit. While you using this mode, all of the webs you open will no longer appear in the Browser history, the files downloaded will not record in the download histories and cookies will not be saved once you closed the page.
  6. To use the regular mode, tap Thumbnails of active browser windows icon and then select a web page which is not using the incognito feature.

By knowing how to use incognito feature, now you can make the browser app not to record your browsing activities which means you have no need to clear the browser cache and history manually as what you do when you use a regular mode. So, hope this helps :)

Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Fix Wrong Display in the Messaging App Icon in the Home Screen

Messaging app is one of pre-installed apps on the Samsung Galaxy SIII which is presented to meet the user needs to send a message, either text or multimedia messages. Usually, when you get a new message you will get a notification in the status bar, and if you see the Messaging app icon in the Home screen, it will be marked with a certain number that indicates the number of unread messages. In certain case, some users experienced wrong display in their Messaging app icon. The Messaging app icon marked with number but when they open it there's no unread messages.


How to solve wrong display in Messaging app icon?
AFAIK, there are two possible ways to fix this problem. Here they are:
I. Disable the option Do not keep activities
The first methods is by checking the Do not keep activities option to see whether it's enabled. If so, you need to disable it by following the steps listed below:
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Scroll down to Developer options, then tap it.
  3. Uncheck the checkbox next to the Do not keep activities option to disable this option.
  4. Now, restart the phone.
  5. Once the phone is waked up, the wrong displays on Messaging app icon should be fixed.

II. Remove the Messaging app icon then add it again
Yes, you can also fix this problem by removing the Messaging app icon and then add it again to your Home screen. Then the marked number in Messaging app icon should be removed.

Aside from manually save the picture from your Facebook account, you can also set the phone to display your Facebook albums and photos on your Gallery app by syncing your Facebook gallery.


How to sync Facebook gallery?
To do so, kindly follow the steps listed below:
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Account and sync.
  3. Tap your Facebook account name you wish to sync its gallery.
  4. Tick the checkbox next to Sync Gallery option.
  5. Once the sync process is completed, you should see the album synced marked with Facebook logo on your Gallery.

Well, by doing this step, now you can view your Facebook albums and photos directly through your Gallery app. But, you should note that it will slow down the device during the sync process, especially if your Facebook account has lot of pictures to sync.

  4. On the pop-up window select the Address Book option , then in the following pop up windows select ASCII exporter/importer option to generate .csv contact files as this type of file is allowed to import on the Gmail contacts.
  5. Select One way sync from device, then save the file with .csv extension to export the contact to .csv file. Select the files as the targets and the setup will finish.
  6. Now you'll see in the Organizer menu the checkbox in the left side of the Address Book option is ticked.
  7. Click the Sync button located at the bottom right corner to start exporting.
  8. Click Yes button to confirm exporting contacts.
  9. The app will count the number of contact being exported, if the number is correct then click the Yes button to finish exporting.

Import exported .csv file into Gmail contacts
  1. On your computer launch the web browser by clicking the browser icon on the desktop or access it through the Start button then all programs.
  2. On the browser address bar type gmail.com to navigate to Gmail and then sign in using your Google account associated with your device.
  3. On your Gmail, click Contacts.
  4. Click More.
  5. In the drop down menu select Import.
  6. Click Choose File to select the .csv file that you've just exported from your Blackberry.
  7. Click the Import button.
  8. Finish. Now, the .csv file has been imported into your Gmail contacts.
  9. Sign out from gmail.com

Sync Gmail contacts with the Samsung Galaxy S3
  1. On your Galaxy SIII, go to Apps through Home screen.
  2. Scroll to Settings, then tap on it.
  3. Tap Accounts and sync.
  4. Tap your Google account.
  5. Here you can choose what you would like to sync by ticking the checkbox next to the option or you can tick all the options displayed on your screen, then tap Sync now button to synchronize the contacts.
  6. Finish. Now your imported contacts Blackberry has been synced with your Galaxy SIII.
  7. If you have not activated your Google account on your phone, then you need to activate it first to allow your phone to sync your phone with your Gmail contacts.

  11. In the drop down menu select Import.
  12. Click Choose File to select the .vrf file that you've just exported from iCloud.
  13. Click the Import button.
  14. Finish. Now, the .vrf file has been imported into your Gmail contacts.
  15. Sign out from gmail.com

On your Samsung Galaxy S3
Follow the steps listed below to sync your Gmail contacts with your phone:
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Accounts and sync.
  3. Tap your Google account.

For the record, the second methods will only erase the history and once you use the Youtube app to search video then it will start to record your history again.     • Last call: This will show you the total length of time for the last call.
    • Dialed calls: This will show you the total length of time for all outgoing calls you have made.
    • Received calls: This will show you the total length of time for all incoming calls you have received.
    • All calls: This will show you the total length of time for all incoming and outgoing calls.
  5. To reset all these times, tap the Menu key then select Reset.

For some peoples, knowing the duration of the calls they have done is something quite important. So, by knowing how to do it using the steps above, you can now easily get information about the total call duration on your Samsung Galaxy SIII.

Samsung Galaxy S3 : How to Assign Different Message Tone in Different Contact

  1. Download install Handcent SMS app through the Play Store.
  2. Once the installation is completed, launch the app.
  3. All the conversation in the stock messaging app will be automatically retrieved on this app.
  4. Tap the desired message from certain contact you wish to change the message tone.
  5. Tap the Menu key then select Personalization.
  6. Tap Notification settings.
  7. Tap Notification sound.
  8. Select the desired message tone, either from the default tones or from your own music or tones.
  9. Tap OK button to save the changes.

So simple to do, right? Now, you can easily assign different message tone on each contact. As a note, you can only set the message tone to a contact who has been sent you a message. So, hope this helps :)

    While you're viewing a webpage, tap and hold the screen with your two thumbs at two points then tilt the phone away from you or tilt the phone towards you to zoom in or zoom out. In order to make you be able to use this motion, first you need to enable this motion in Settings menu.

    While you're viewing a webpage, pinch the screen using your two fingers then move them farther apart or closer together to zoom in or zoom out.
  3. DOUBLE TAP

    • Tick the checkbox next to the music you wish to remove, or tap Select all to remove all the music from the playlist.
    • Tap Remove.
  7. Now, you have managed to add or remove the desired music files in the selected playlist.

How to view, send message and call back to a missed call number from the lock screen?
Below are the steps to do so:
  1. Tap the Missed call icon in the lock screen then move it in any direction to display call details.
  2. The call log is displayed and missed calls are identified by the Missed call icon  next to the number.
  3. To call back the missed call number by swiping it to the right.
  4. To send a message swipe the missed call number to the left.

For the record, this step only works if you use the basic swipe methods to unlock the screen. If you use another methods, such as pattern, PIN or password, you need to unlock the screen first, then viewing the missed call icon through the notification bar or Phone app. So, hope this helps :)
