Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Take a Photo Using Wide Selfie Mode in Camera App in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

Have you ever in a situation where you accidentally left your friend out when taking a group selfies or wefies photo? If that so, you can save yourself from this problem by using the wide selfie mode in the Camera app in Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. When this mode is enabled, you can take a wide-angle selfie shot by pivoting your phone left and right to capture more screen so you can fit more people in the photo.


How to take a photo using wide selfie mode in the Camera app?
You can take wefies with more easily with the wide selfie mode by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app.
  2. If it's using the rear camera, tap to switch to the front camera for self-portraits. By default, the front camera uses selfie as the default shooting mode.
  3. Tap Mode to view all available shooting modes.
  4. Tap Wide selfie to select and enable this mode.
  5. Face the front camera lens. Make sure your face is not too close with the camera and gets enough lighting so that it can easily be detected.
  6. Tap to start taking a wide selfie shot photo. FYI, if you have difficulty in making a good selfie-shot photo by tapping the on-screen camera icon because it makes more shakes and blurriness in your photo, you can use other alternative ways to take a self-portrait becomes easier and more convenient, e.g., by placing your finger on the heart rate sensor on the back of your phone, by showing your palm on the front camera lens, etc.
  7. Swivel your phone slowly to the left and then right or vice versa. The camera will take additional photos when the white frame moves to each end of the viewfinder window. If you'd like to stop taking a wide selfie shot photo before the process is completed, tap .
    To get a better result when taking a photo using this mode, make sure to meet the following conditions:
    • Make sure to keep the white frame inside the viewfinder window, otherwise each scene won't be stitched well.
    • Make sure you and everyone on the photo are not moving while taking wide self-portraits.
  8. Once done, the photo will be saved automatically. Tap the preview thumbnail to view the photo in the Gallery app.
