Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Enable and Use Auto Punctuate Feature in Samsung Keyboard in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

The default Samsung keyboard in your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge comes with some features that are designed to help you type faster, one of which is the auto punctuate feature. When this feature is enabled, you can easily insert a full stop followed by a space in the end of a sentence by tapping the space bar twice.


How to enable or disable the auto punctuate feature in the Samsung keyboard?
You can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down to the screen to find Language and input and then tap it.
  3. Tap Samsung keyboard.
    Alternatively, when you're entering text, you can quickly go to the Samsung keyboard settings by long tapping the key in the left side of the space bar and then tap .
  4. Scroll down the screen and then tap the ON/OFF switch next to Auto punctuate to enable or disable it. When the switch turns , means the auto punctuate feature is enabled.


How to use the auto punctuate feature in the Samsung keyboard?
See the following steps as the example of using this feature when entering text with the Samsung qwerty keyboard:
  1. Go to the screen or app where you can enter text, e.g., when composing a new text message in the Messages app.
  2. Write a sentence and then finish it by tapping the space bar twice to automatically insert a full stop followed by a space so you can directly write the next sentence. When the auto capitalise feature is enabled, your phone will enable the caps lock key so the first letter of the next sentence will be capitalised automatically.
