Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Clear Contact's Default Preferences in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Marking an entry within a contact as the default preferences will help your phone to know which the primary entry that should be used if the contact has multiple entries in a field, e.g: phone number, name or email address. However, for some reason, you may want to clear the default preferences of an entry within a contact, for instance if you have accidentally marked a wrong entry as the default preferences.

How to remove the default preferences of an entry within a contact?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open Contacts app.
  2. If needed, tap the Contacts tab.
  3. Tap the required contact.
  4. Long tap the entry that has been set as the default preferences (e,g: phone number or email address) and then select Clear default.
  5. The default preferences of the selected entry has been cleared and the checkmark will be removed.
