Previously, I've written about some possible ways that you can do to make you more faster and easier accessing installed application on your Samsung Galaxy SIII.

Now, I'll write about the basic steps to do to access application in this phone. Well, accessing installed application, either the stock application or not is a basic knowledge about using Samsung Galaxy SIII. For some of you may have known well about it, but for some another it may something new or little bit difficult for them to do.


How to access installed apps?
Here are the steps to do so:
  1. From your Home screen, tap Apps icon to access the application list. This icon usually located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
  2. Swipe the screen to the right or to the left to go to another applications list screen, or you can go to another screen by tapping the dots at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap the application you wish to use.
  4. Tap the Back key to return to the previous screen or tap Home key to return to the Home screen.
  5. To access recently used apps, tap and hold the Home key then tap the required apps to access them.

Due to this is a basic steps, then I'll dedicate this post specifically for those of you who are still new with this phone. So, hope this will bring you something useful :)

Samsung Galaxy S3: 3 Ways to Make You More Easier and Faster Accessing the Applications

Samsung Galaxy SIII comes with several pre-loaded applications to meet the basic need of using this phone, such as Messaging apps that you can use to send and receive text or multimedia message, Gmail apps to send or receive email message through your Gmail account, Contacts apps to save your contacts and customize them, Phone apps to make a voice or video call, and many more.

Here you can also downloading and installing another apps according to your needs through the Google Play Store or Samsung Apps Store. Moreover you can also installing apps from another source aside from both of the official market.

Many choices of the apps available, sometimes makes you end up with installing many apps on your phone. Even though, in fact you just use some of them, and the other is not. Instead of uninstall the apps, here are 3 ways that you can do to make you more faster and easier accessing your favourites apps:


1. Add the shortcut of the apps to the Home screen.
Adding your favourites apps shortcut on Home screen of course will make you more easier and faster to access the apps. You don't need to go to the application list, simply tapping the apps shortcut on the Home screen and the apps will launch.

2. Change the default app on the bottom dock of the Home screen.
By default, there are usually four icon of the most frequently used apps available in the bottom of the Home screen. If you don't want one of them to be there, then you can delete it and use the blank spot there to add the new apps that you wish to be there.

3. Change the default apps shortcuts on lock screen.
As with the default apps in the bottom of the Home screen, you can also do this with the apps icon on the lock screen. You can change one or more of them with your favourites apps. By doing this, you can access your favourites apps easily even when your phone is locked.

Well, these three methods surely will be able to facilitate you accessing your favourites apps. And this will also save you more time because by using these methods you will be able to skip some steps while accessing the apps. Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Add Shortcut Per Email Account on Home Screen

One of the ability owned by the Samsung Galaxy SIII is handling multiple email accounts, or in other words you can add several email accounts in this phone. You can also set one of them as the default email account that will be use by default to write an email.

As with the apps and widget, you can also create the shortcut for each your email account to the Home screen to make you more faster and easier when you want to access them. You can do this by utilizing email account widget.


How to create shortcut for each email account on Home screen?
Before you do this steps, make sure you have space enough on your Home screen that you'll use to add the widget. Well, here are the complete steps to do:
  1. Long tap on your Home screen.
  2. On pop up menu select Add to Home screen.
  3. Tap Widget tab.
  4. Find Email account 1x1 widget by swiping the screen to the left or to the right, then tap and hold to move it to the Home screen.
  5. Now you'll see a list of your email accounts.
  6. Tap the required email account you wish to add the shortcut.
  7. Finish. the shortcut to an email account has been added to the Home screen.
  8. To add more shortcut for another email account, you can repeat from the step #1.

It's easy, right? Adding shortcuts for each email account will of course be able to facilitate you accessing them directly through the Home screen. Also it will save you more time because now you just need to tap the required email account shortcut on Home screen when you want to access them. So, hope this helps :)

Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Add Website Shortcut on Home Screen

Bookmarks your favourite or most visited website is one of the way that you can do to make you more faster and easier when you want to visit them. By doing this, you don't need to enter the URL each time you want to access them, you just need to tap Bookmark icon then choose which the bookmarked website you wish to visit.

One more way to make you more easier and faster accessing the bookmarked website is by adding the shortcut to them in the Home screen. This of course will save your time, because you just need to tap the shortcuts on the Home screen to visit them without having to open the Browser apps first.


How to add shortcut to a website on Home screen?
To do so kindly follow the steps listed below:
  1. Long tap on the Home screen.
  2. On pop up menu select Add to Home screen.
  3. Tap Widget tab.
  4. Find Bookmark 1x1 widget, then tap and hold to move it on your Home screen.
  5. Now you'll see thumbnails of the bookmarked website.
  6. Choose which bookmarked website you wish to add its shortcuts.
  7. Finish. The shortcuts of your selected bookmarked website has been created on the Home screen.

Once you've done these steps, now you can easily accessing your favourites website by tapping the shortcuts on the Home screen then it will load the site in the Browser apps. For the record, make sure you have space enough on your Home screen before you add the widget.

Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Make the Browser to Load or Not the Flash on the Web

One way to do to enable you viewing flash-based website is by installing Adobe Flash Player on your Samsung Galaxy SIII. Even though nowadays Adobe Flash Player is no longer available on Google Play Store, you still be able to install it from another source. First, you need to allow your phone to install from unknown source to do so.

once you've finished installing it on your phone, now you can viewing website contains with flash through the Browser apps. But, you should remember that load the flash on the web may cost you more data. Fortunately, there is an option in the stock browser apps which will allow you to make the browser to load the flash or not.


How to customize plug-ins settings on Browser apps?
Below are the complete steps to do:
  1. Open the Browser apps.
  2. Tap the Menu key then select Settings.
  3. Tap Advanced.
  4. Tap Enable plug-ins.
  5. Now you'll see three options available on pop up menu, they are:
    • Always on: choose this option to allow the browser load flash on the web.
    • On demand: choose this option if you want to decide which the flash content on the web you wish to load.
    • Off: choose this option to make the browser not to load flash on the web.
  6. Tap the required enable plug-ins option you wish to use. When the dot indicator next to the option shows green means the option is selected.
  7. Tap the Back key to return to the browser page.

By knowing how to change plug-ins settings on the Browser apps, now you can set it according to your needs. When your priority is a better experience while viewing the web then you can set it to always on, but if you have no problem to view the web without load the flash and want to save more data, then you can set it to on demand or turn it off.

Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Make the Weather Widget to Auto Update

Accu weather is the stock weather widget that you can find in the primary Home screen on Samsung Galaxy SIII. This widget will provide you information about the temperature and weather forecast on your location. For the personal need, you can change the preferred temperature unit you wish to use, either Celsius or Fahrenheit.

In addition to change the temperature unit, in this widget you can also determine how often the widget to refresh the information. There are several auto refresh option that you can choose which best suit you.


How to change weather widget auto refresh?
Below are the steps you need to do to determine the frequency of the weather widget updating the information:
  1. Tap the Weather widget on your Home screen.
  2. Tap the Menu key then select Settings.
  3. Tap Widgets.
  4. Tap Auto refresh.
  5. Now you'll see some option available on pop up menu, they are:
    • None
    • Every 1 hour: choose this option to make your weather widget refreshing the information for every one hour.
    • Every 3 hours: choose this option to make your weather widget refreshing the information for every 3 hours.
    • Every 6 hours: choose this option to make your weather widget refreshing the information for every 6 hours.
    • Every 12 hours: choose this option to make your weather widget refreshing the information for every 12 hours.
    • Every 24 hours: choose this option to make your weather widget refreshing the information for every 24 hours.
  6. Tap the required auto refresh option you wish to use. When the dot indicator next the option shows green means the option is selected.
  7. Tap Home button to return to the standby mode.

FYI, you can also manually refresh the weather widget by tapping the auto refresh icon located at the bottom right corner of this widget. Also, you should remember that the frequency of auto refresh weather widget may cost some data plan. In other words, more shorter the auto refresh frequency means more data will be used. So, which auto refresh option do you use?

Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Change Weather Widget from Celsius to Fahrenheit

When you first turn on your Samsung Galaxy SIII, generally you'll find the stock weather widget was installed on your primary Home screen. You can use this widget to obtain the information about temperature and weather forecast on your current location. But, first of all you need to enable location services on your phone to make this widget works.

As another apps and widgets installed in this phone, you can also customize this Accu weather widget to suit your needs, such as change the preferred temperature unit from Celsius to Fahrenheit or vice versa.


How to change weather widget from Celsius to Fahrenheit or Fahrenheit to Celsius?
Below are the complete steps to do:
  1. On your primary Home screen, tap Accu weather widget.
  2. Tap the Menu key then select Settings.
  3. Tap General.
  4. Tap Unit.
  5. Depending on your current settings, tap Unit to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit or vice versa. When the dot indicator next the option shows green means the option is selected.
  6. Tap Home button to return to the standby mode.

Some countries use Celsius to explain the temperature and the other countries use Fahrenheit. So, by knowing how to change the temperature unit from Celsius to Fahrenheit or vice versa then you can set it according to your needs.
