How to change font size in the stock Email app?
You can adjust the font size for the email list and the body of the email message in the stock Email app by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock Email app.
  2. Tap at the top right corner of the screen or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Font size.
  3. Here you can select the required font size from the following options:
    • Use device font sizes: select this option to change the font size in the stock Email app based on the font size that is being used by your phone.
    • Tiny
    • Extra small
    • Small
    • Medium
    • Large
    • Extra large
    • Huge
  4. The font size in the stock Email app has been changed. 
  5. Now, the stock Email app will use the selected font size to display the email list and the body of the email message.

Set contacts you communicate with frequently as favourites will save you time since they will be placed in a different list which is separated from the entire of your contacts list so that you can find them with more easily and you just need a single tap your favourite contacts to call them. However, if needed you can also easily remove your favourite contacts from the list, for instance if you have set a wrong contact as favourites or if you just want to remove certain contact from your favourites list.


How to remove a contact from the favourites list?
You can do so by using three different methods: while viewing your favourites list, while viewing contact's detail information and while viewing the Starred in Android contacts group.


Method #1: While viewing the favourites list
You can easily remove contacts from the favourites list while viewing the favourites list by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock Contacts app.
  2. Tap the Favourites tab.
  3. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Remove from Favourites.
  4. Select the required contacts you want to remove from the list.
  5. Tap Done button.
  6. The selected contacts have been removed from the favourites list.


Method #2: While viewing the contact's detail information
FYI, your phone will add the favourite icon or the yellow star icon at the photo contact to help you easily know that the contact has been set as favourite. See the following steps to remove a contact from favourites list while viewing the contact's detail information:
  1. Open the stock Contacts app.
  2. Tap the Contacts tab.
  3. Tap the required contact whose photo has the favourite icon to view the contact's detail info.
  4. Tap to remove the contact from the favourites list. The favourite icon will turn gray as a sign that the selected contact has been removed from the favourites list.


Method #3: While viewing the Starred in Android contacts group
If adding contacts to the Starred in Android contacts group will automatically add those contacts to the favourites list then removing contacts from this group will automatically remove contacts from the favourites list as well. Use the following steps to remove contacts from the favourites list while viewing the Starred in Android contacts group:
  1. Open the stock Contacts app.
  2. Tap the Contacts tab.
  3. Tap to view your contacts groups list.
  4. Tap Starred in Android.
  5. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Remove from group.
  6. Select the required contacts you want to remove from group.
  7. Tap Done button.
  8. The selected contacts have been removed from the Starred in Android contacts group and from the favourites list as well.

By default, the stock Email app gives the same signature, "Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone", for all email accounts you have added to this app. The signature will be displayed at the bottom of your outgoing email messages. If needed, you can change that default signature with your own signature which contains your personal information or any other information you want to include in your signature.


How to change signature of an email account in the stock Email app?
FYI, if you have multiple accounts then you have to change the signature separately since each account has their own signature. Use the following steps to change the signature of an email account in the stock Email app:
  1. Open the stock Email app.
  2. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Settings.
  3. Tap Manage accounts. All of email accounts you have added to the stock Email app will be listed here.
  4. Tap the required account you want to change its signature.
  5. Tap Signature.
  6. If Signature is off, tap the ON/OFF switch to turn it on.
  7. Tap Edit signature.
  8. Now, you can enter your own signature here. As the example, you can create your own signature by including your name, phone number, or other information you want to include in your signature.
  9. Tap Done button.
  10. The signature of the selected email account has been changed.

If you add your current city to the Accuweather widget, it'll help you to know the latest weather conditions in your city with ease. FYI, since this widget can handle more than one city, if needed you can also add another cities into the widget so that you can easily know the weather conditions in other cities directly from your home screen.


How to add a new city to the Accuweather widget?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Tap the Accuweather widget in your home screen.
  2. Tap to add a new city.
  3. Key in the city name in the search field and then tap to start searching.
  4. Tap the required city from the search result list.
  5. The selected city has been added to your Accuweather widget.
  6. Press the Home key to go to your home screen.
  7. To see the weather conditions in other cities you have added to the widget, swipe the Accuweather widget up or down.


How to remove a city from the Accuweather widget?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Tap the Accuweather widget in your home screen.
  2. Tap to see all of cities you have added to this widget.
  3. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Delete.
  4.  Select the required city you want to delete.
  5. Tap Done button.
  6. Tap OK button to confirm.
  7. The selected city has been deleted from the Accuweather widget.

The current temperature is one of information that you can get from the Accuweather widget. This widget is is available in your home screen by default, but if you have accidentally removed it, you can get it back simply by adding the Accuweather widget from the the widgets list to your home screen. To fit the widget with your need, you can do some customizations to this widget, one of which is by changing the temperature unit from Celsius to Fahrenheit or from Fahrenheit to Celsius.


How to change the temperature unit in the Accuweather widget?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Tap the Accuweather widget on your home screen.
  2. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Settings.
  3. Tap Unit and then select from the following options:
    • °C: select this option if you want the Accuweather widget displays the current temperature in Celsius degree.
    • °F: select this option if you want the Accuweather widget displays the current temperature in Fahrenheit degree.
  4. Press the Home key to go to your home screen and you'll see the Accuweather widget displays the current temperature with the selected temperature unit.

By default, if you have ever connected to a Wi-Fi network, either it's an open or secured network, then it'll be saved by the phone so that it'll automatically connect if the Wi-Fi network is available. How to forget a saved Wi-Fi network profile?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Network connections section and then tap Wi-Fi .
  3. If Wi-Fi is off, tap the ON/OFF switch to turn it on.
  4. Tap the required Wi-Fi network profile you want to forget and then tap Forget button.
  5. The selected Wi-Fi network profile has been forgotten.

When a Wi-Fi network is not available, you can alternatively obtain internet connection by connecting your phone to a mobile network. But, you have to remember that if you don't have unlimited data plan then you may incur with the additional charges when using mobile data to use internet.


How to enable mobile data?
You can enable your mobile data connection by using some methods: from the notification panel, from the quick settings panel, from the settings menu and from the home screen.


Method #1: From the notification panel
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel.
  2. Place your finger on the quick setting buttons bar and then swipe the screen from the right to the left to see the quick setting button for the Mobile data.
  3. Tap the Mobile data button to enable it. The button turns green when it's enabled.


Method #2: From the quick settings panel
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen using two fingers to open up the quick setting panel.
  2. Tap the Mobile data button to enable it. The button turns green when it's enabled.


Method #3: From the general settings menu
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Network connections section.
  3. Enabling mobile data via more networks menu:
    • Tap More networks .
    • Tap Mobile networks.
    • Check the box next to Mobile data to enable this option.
  4. Enabling mobile data via data usage menu:
    • Tap Data usage .
    • Check the box next to Mobile data to enable this option.


Method #4: From the home screen
This method can be used if you have installed a third-party mobile data widget app from the Play Store, e.g: Data Enabler Widget app. Once the app is installed, it'll be added to your widgets list so that you can add it to your home screen. Once the widget is added to home screen, you can quickly enable or disable your mobile data connection from home screen by single tapping the widget.

The name listed in the device name option will be displayed in other devices to represent your device when you need to connect your phone to transfer files using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi direct, or when you need to connect your phone to share media file using the nearby devices feature. Since Samsung Galaxy S5 uses its name as the default device name which is too general then you may need to change the device name to a more personal or unique so that others can easily recognize your device from its name.   4. Enter the required device name you want to use. It'd better if you use a unique name that will make others can easily recognize that it's your device.
  5. Tap OK button to save the changes.
  6. The device name has been changed and the name will be used for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi direct and nearby devices features.

As a note, you can also change the device name from the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi direct and nearby devices menus by utilizing the rename device option that can be found when you long press the recent apps key or tap the three dot icon at the top right of the screen.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Set LED Indicator in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Samsung Galaxy S5 is equipped with a LED indicator or notification light which is located at the top left corner above the screen. When the options within the LED indicator menu are enabled, your phone will light up or blink the LED indicator to notify you of missed notifications, low battery, when the device is being charged or is fully charged, or when the device is recording a voice while the screen is off.


How to set the LED Indicator?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Sound and display section and then tap Display .
  3. Scroll the screen to the very bottom.
  4. Tap LED indicator.
  5. Here you'll be provided with the following options:
    • Charging: check the box next to this option to enable it and make your phone lights up the red LED when the device is connected to a charger and is charging while the screen is off. When the battery has been fully charged, the phone will light up the green LED.
    • Low battery: check the box next to this option to enable it and make your phone blinks the red LED when the battery level is low while the screen is off.
    • Notifications: check the box next to this option to enable it and make your phone blinks the blue LED per 10 seconds when you have missed notifications, e.g: missed calls, unread messages, or app notifications while the screen is off.
    • Voice recording: check the box next to this option to enable it and make your phone blinks the blue LED per 1-2 seconds when the voice recording is still in the progress while the screen is off. FYI, the voice recording option only available if you have enabled the notifications option.

As a note, the LED indicator won't blink blue when you have notifications of an app if you have set your phone to hide notifications for that app. Also, some third-party apps may have their own LED indicator settings so that you may find your phone glows or flashes the LED indicator with other color.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Enable or Disable Haptic Feedback in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Samsung Galaxy S5 has some feedback options, one of which is the haptic feedback. When it's enabled, your phone will vibrate when you press the back key or the recent apps key. To make the haptic feedback feature works, make sure your phone is not in silent mode or in power saving mode. Even so, you can consider to turn this feature off if you want to conserve more battery or if you don't want to be annoyed with the phone vibration each time you press the soft keys.


How to turn on or off the haptic feedback?
There are two methods that can be used to access the option to enable or disable the haptic feedback option: from the general settings menu and from the S Finder.


Method #1: From the settings menu
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Sound and display section and then tap Sound .
  3. Scroll down to the Feedback section.
  4. Depending on your current settings, tap Haptic feedback to enable or disable this option. When the checkbox next to this option is checked means the haptic feedback is enabled and your phone will vibrate when the soft keys (the back key and recent apps key) are pressed.


Method #2: From the S Finder
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap the S Finder button.
  2. Key in "haptic feedback" in the search field and then tap to start searching. The search result will be displayed shortly.
  3. Depending on your current settings, under the Settings section, tap the checkbox next to the Haptic feedback option to enable or disable this option. When the checkbox next to this option is checked means the haptic feedback is enabled and your phone will vibrate when the soft keys (the back key and recent apps key) are pressed.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Enable or Disable Touch Sounds in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Samsung Galaxy S5 has some audio feedback options, one of which is the touch sounds. When you enable the touch sounds, your phone will play sound like a quiet click when you select an app, an icon, a button, an option or make a selection on the screen. But, if you don't like your phone sounds when you select something on the screen or if you feel annoyed with the sound then you can turn off the sound simply by disabling the touch sounds.


How to turn on or off the touch sounds?
You can access the option to enable or disable the touch sounds by using two different methods: from the general settings menu and from the S Finder.


Method #1: From the settings menu
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Sound and display section and then tap Sound .
  3. Scroll down to the Feedback section.
  4. Depending on your current settings, tap Touch sounds to enable or disable this option. When the checkbox next to this option is checked means the touch sound is enabled and your phone will play sound each time you make a screen selection.


Method #2: From the S Finder
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap the S Finder button.
  2. Key in "touch sounds" in the search field and then tap to start searching.
  3. In the search result page, under the Settings section, tap Touch sounds. It'll quickly bring you to the place where the touch sounds option is located.
  4. Depending on your current settings, tap Touch sounds to enable or disable this option. When the checkbox next to this option is checked means the touch sound is enabled and your phone will play sound each time you make a screen selection.

As a note, if you place your phone in silent or vibration mode, the touch sounds will not work even when you have turned this option on. Also, if needed, you can increase or decrease the touch sounds volume by adjusting the system volume in the general sound volume settings.
