Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Remove Contacts From Favourites List in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Set contacts you communicate with frequently as favourites will save you time since they will be placed in a different list which is separated from the entire of your contacts list so that you can find them with more easily and you just need a single tap your favourite contacts to call them. However, if needed you can also easily remove your favourite contacts from the list, for instance if you have set a wrong contact as favourites or if you just want to remove certain contact from your favourites list.

How to remove a contact from the favourites list?
You can do so by using three different methods: while viewing your favourites list, while viewing contact's detail information and while viewing the Starred in Android contacts group.

Method #1: While viewing the favourites list
You can easily remove contacts from the favourites list while viewing the favourites list by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock Contacts app.
  2. Tap the Favourites tab.
  3. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Remove from Favourites.
  4. Select the required contacts you want to remove from the list.
  5. Tap Done button.
  6. The selected contacts have been removed from the favourites list.

Method #2: While viewing the contact's detail information
FYI, your phone will add the favourite icon or the yellow star icon at the photo contact to help you easily know that the contact has been set as favourite. See the following steps to remove a contact from favourites list while viewing the contact's detail information:
  1. Open the stock Contacts app.
  2. Tap the Contacts tab.
  3. Tap the required contact whose photo has the favourite icon to view the contact's detail info.
  4. Tap to remove the contact from the favourites list. The favourite icon will turn gray as a sign that the selected contact has been removed from the favourites list.

Method #3: While viewing the Starred in Android contacts group
If adding contacts to the Starred in Android contacts group will automatically add those contacts to the favourites list then removing contacts from this group will automatically remove contacts from the favourites list as well. Use the following steps to remove contacts from the favourites list while viewing the Starred in Android contacts group:
  1. Open the stock Contacts app.
  2. Tap the Contacts tab.
  3. Tap to view your contacts groups list.
  4. Tap Starred in Android.
  5. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Remove from group.
  6. Select the required contacts you want to remove from group.
  7. Tap Done button.
  8. The selected contacts have been removed from the Starred in Android contacts group and from the favourites list as well.
