Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Get Back Accuweather Widget to Home Screen in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

This week, more than two insiders sent me emails and said that they had accidentally removed the Accuweather widgets from their home screens and they wanted to get it back. FYI, since the Accuweather widget is a default widget in Samsung Galaxy S5, you can get it back to the home screen simply by finding the Accuweather widget from your widgets list and then add it to your home screen, as you used to do when adding a widget to home screen.

How to add the Accuweather widget to home screen?
Before doing the following steps, make sure you have a free space in your home screen. Do the following steps to add a weather widget to home screen:
  1. While you're on home screen, long press the Recent apps key or long tap on a blank area of the home screen to go to the home screen edit page.
  2. Tap Widgets icon at the bottom of the screen. It'll bring you to the widgets list.
  3. Find the Weather 4x2 widget.
  4. Tap and hold the widget and then drag it to the required space in home screen.
  5. Release the widget to place it in home screen.
  6. If you'd like to display your current city in the Accuweather widget, do as follows:
    • Tap the weather widget.
    • If your GPS is off, you need to turn it on by tapping the Settings button in a pop up window that appears in your screen. It'll quickly bring you to the Location menu.
    • Tap the ON/OFF switch to turn on the location services.
    • Press the Back key.
    • Your current location will be displayed on the screen.
    • Tap the current location to display it on the Accuweather widget in home screen.
