Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Switch Between Keyboards in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

When you're installing a third-party keyboard in your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, such as when you cannot find a feature you need in the default Samsung keyboard or just want to try another keyboard, you'll be asked to set the keyboard as the default keyboard so you can directly use it to type once the installation process is completed. If needed, you can switch between those multiple keyboards so you can easily choose which keyboard you want to use with according to your need.


How to switch between keyboards?
As the example, we'll change the default keyboard from a third-party keyboard to the Samsung keyboard by using two different methods: from the settings menu and from an app or screen where you can enter text.

Method #1: From the settings menu

1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
   
   
2. Scroll down to the screen to find Language and input and then tap it.
   
   
3. Tap Default keyboard and then select Samsung keyboard.
   
   
4. The Samsung keyboard has been set as the default keyboard and you can use it to enter text.

Method #2: From an app or screen where you can enter text

1. Go to the screen or app where you can enter text, e.g., when composing a new text message in the Messages app.
2. Swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap Select keyboard to view all enabled keyboards.
   
   
3. Tap Samsung keyboard.
   
   
4. The Samsung keyboard has been set as the default keyboard and you can use it to enter text.
