Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Enable and Use Location Tags Feature in Camera App in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

If needed, you can enable the location tags feature in the Camera app to have your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge attaches geographical location data into your photos or videos so you can use this info to easily know about where they were taken or recorded. However, since photos or videos with location tags contain with location information, make sure you use caution when sending, sharing, distributing, or copying those photos or videos.


How to enable the location tags feature in the Camera app?
Assuming that you have an Internet connection(Wi-Fi or mobile data connection) and the location service is enabled, you can turn on the location tags feature by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app.
  2. Tap to view more detailed settings.
  3. If the location tags feature is off, tap the ON/OFF switch next to Location tags to turn it on.
  4. A pop up window appears to let you know some information about the location tags feature. Tap OK to continue enabling this feature.
  5. The location tags feature has been enabled.


How to use the location tags feature in the Camera app?
As the example, we'll use this feature to embed a GPS location tag info into a picture taken with the auto mode by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app. By default, it uses the rear camera with the auto mode.
  2. Point the camera to the object.
  3. If needed, you can manually change the focus by tapping anywhere on the screen where the camera should focus.
  4. Tap to take a picture.
  5. Tap the preview thumbnail to open the picture you have just taken in the Gallery app.
  6. Tap More at the top right and then select Details.
  7. The location info where you took the photo will be listed in the Location section.
