Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Use Auto Delete Old Messages Feature in Messages App in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

If you send or receive a lot of messages but have no time to manually delete old messages to clean up the Messages app or free up some space, you can enable the auto delete old messages feature in this app to have your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge automatically deletes old messages when the maximum number of text, multimedia, and chat and file sharing messages has been exceeded.

How to use the auto delete old messages in the Messages app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Messages app.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then select Settings.
  3. Tap More settings.
  4. Slide the ON/OFF switch next to Delete old messages to the right to enable this option. When the switch turns , means the auto delete old messages feature is enabled and your phone will automatically delete the oldest messages when the text messages are over 1000 messages, multimedia messages are over 100 messages, and chat and file sharing messages are over 5000 messages.
