Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Block Text Messages Contain with Unwanted Phrases in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

Aside from letting you block text messages from unwanted phone numbers, the default text message blocker feature in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge also lets you block text messages contain with a specific phrase by adding the required phrase to the block list. When a text message with a blocked phrase arrives, you won't be notified and the message will be redirected automatically to the Blocked messages folder. You can use this feature to effectively block spam messages that usually use or contain specific phrases.


How to block text messages contain with unwanted phrases?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Messages app.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then select Settings.
  3. Tap Block messages.
  4. Tap Block phrases.
  5. Enter the required phrase that will cause incoming messages to be blocked in the Enter text field and then tap .
  6. The phrase has been added to the block list and all text messages contain with this phrase will be blocked. As the example, if you add the phrase "surprise" to the block list, all messages contain with this phrase will be blocked and redirected automatically to the Blocked messages folder.
