Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Enable and Use Predictive Text Feature in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

Predictive text is one of smart typing features that you can use when entering text using the Samsung qwerty keyboard in your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. When this feature is enabled, your phone will provide you a set of predicted text for the word you're typing so you can enter text with ease and more accurate.

How to enable the predictive text feature?
You can turn this feature on by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down to the System section and then tap Language and input.
  3. Tap Samsung keyboard. Alternatively, when you're entering text, e.g., while composing a new text message, you can quickly go to the keyboard settings by long tapping the key in the left side of the space bar and then tap .
  4. Slide the ON/OFF switch next to Predictive text to the right to enable it. The switch turns green when the predictive text feature is enabled. When this feature is on, your phone will learn your writing style and update words every week to provide you a better predicted text.
  5. If needed, you can enable the auto spacing feature to have your phone automatically inserts a space between words when using predictive text feature by sliding the ON/OFF switch next to Auto spacing to the right to enable it. The switch turns green when the auto spacing feature is enabled.

How to use the predictive text feature?
As the example, we'll use this feature when English(UK) is set as the input language by using the following steps:
  1. Go to the app or screen where you can enter text, e.g., when composing a new text message.
  2. As you're typing a word, your phone will show you some predicted text at the top of the keyboard. If needed, you can tap to view more predicted text for your word.
  3. Tap a predicted text to complete or replace your word. If the auto spacing feature is enabled, your phone will automatically enter a space after correcting or replacing the word.
