  1. To open the edge screen, drag the edge screen handle towards the centre the screen. By default, the handle is displayed in all screens.
  2. Tap to go to the edge screen menu.
  3. Scroll down the screen to the Additional settings section and then tap Edge screen position.
  4. Tap Show edge screen handle on.
  5. Here you'll be provided with two options:
    • All screens: select this option to have your phone always shows the handle regardless the screen or app you're opening. FYI, this option is enabled by default.
    • Home and lock screen only: select this option to have your phone only shows the handle when you're in home screen or lock screen.

  4. Tap and hold on the edge screen and then drag it to the required position to change the handle position.
  5. The edge screen handle position has been changed.

As a note, since the edge screen settings icon and the handle are located in a straight line, when the handle position is changed, the edge screen settings icon position will automatically be changed too.

  2. Tap to go to the edge screen settings.
  3. Scroll down the screen and then tap Edge screen notifications.
  4. Here you're provided with these following options:

Aside from allowing you to add contacts to the My people list, you're also allowed to manage those contacts when needed, as the example: delete unwanted contacts from the list or change the order of contacts.


How to delete or reorder contacts in the My people list?
Assuming that the people edge feature is on, you can remove or reorder contacts in the My people list by using two different methods: from the settings menu and from the My people tab.


Method #1: From the settings menu
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. While the screen is unlocked, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to the Device section and then tap Edge screen.
  3. Tap People edge.
  4. Tap My people. All contacts you have added to the My people list will be displayed here.
  5. Tap Edit at the top right.
  6. To remove a contact from the My people list, tap at the required contact. The selected contact will be removed from the list.
  7. To change the order of contacts within the My people list, tap and hold next to the required contact and then drag it to the required position.
  8. Tap the Back key to return to the My people menu.


Method #2: From the My people tab
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. While you're in lock screen, home screen or apps menu, drag the My people tab from the edge screen towards the centre of the screen to open up the My people list.
  2. To remove a contact from the My people list, tap and hold a contact icon and then drag it to the Remove icon located at the top of the screen. The selected contact will be removed from the list.
  3. To change the order of contacts within the My people list, tap and hold a contact icon and then drag it to the required position.
  4. Swipe your finger from the centre of the screen towards the edge screen to close the My people list.

If you have enabled the people edge feature, you can add your favourite contacts to My people.   3. Tap People edge.
  4. Tap My people.
  5. Tap Add contact next to the desired colour indicator.
  6. Select the required contact from your contacts list. FYI, only those saved in the device memory that can be added to the My people list.
  7. The selected contact has been assigned to the selected colour indicator and added to the My people list.
  8. To add more contacts to My people, repeat from the step #5. You can add up to 5 contacts to My people.


Method #2: From My people tab
While you're in lock screen, home screen or apps menu, you can easily add your favourite contacts to My people list by using the following steps:
  1. Drag the My people tab from the edge screen towards the centre of the screen to open up My people list.
  2. Tap + icon that is displayed with the desired colour indicator and then select the required contact from your contacts list. FYI, only those saved in the device memory that can be added to the My people list.
  3. The selected contact has been assigned to the selected colour indicator and added to the My people list.
  4. To add more contacts to My people, repeat from the step #2. You can add up to 5 contacts to My people.

If the edge lighting feature is enabled, you can use the people edge feature to have your phone lights up its edge screen with the different colours when you receive calls or notifications from those you have added to My people while the main screen is off and your phone's screen is facing downwards. As the example, if you have added "Rehan" to My people and assign her to the green colour indicator, when she calls or messages you, the edge screen will light up green when the main screen is off and your phone is turned over.


How to enable the people edge feature and add contacts to My people?
Assuming that the edge lighting feature is enabled, you can enable the people edge feature and add contacts to My people by using the following steps:
  1. While the screen is unlocked, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to the Device section and then tap Edge screen.
  3. Tap People edge.
  4. If People edge is off, tap the ON/OFF switch to turn it on. The switch turns green when it's enabled.
  5. To add a contact to My people, do as follows:
    • Tap My people.
    • Tap Add contact next to the required colour indicator.
    • Select the required contact from your contacts list.
    • The selected contact has been added to My people. FYI, you can add up to 5 contacts to My people.
    • Tap the Back key to return to the People edge menu.
  6. If needed, you can set your phone to vibrate if there are notifications from contacts listed in My people when you pick up your phone by sliding the ON/OFF switch next to Alert when picking up to the right to enable it. The switch turns green when it's enabled.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Enable and Use Quick Reply in Android 5.0.2 Lollipop

Edge lighting is a feature in Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge that works by utilizing its edge screen. When the edge lighting feature is enabled and your phone's screen is facing downwards, you can use the quick reply feature to automatically reject incoming calls and send a rejection message to the caller by placing and holding your finger on the heart rate sensor for 2 seconds.


How to enable the quick reply feature?
You can set up this feature by using the following steps:
  1. While the screen is unlocked, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to the Device section and then tap Edge screen.
  3. Tap Edge lighting. If Edge lighting is off, tap the ON/OFF switch to turn it on. The switch turns green when it's enabled.
  4. Tap Quick reply.
  5. Slide the ON/OFF switch to the right to enable the quick reply feature. The switch turns green when the quick reply feature is enabled.
  6. If needed, you can edit or change the default rejection message by using these steps:
    • Tap the message under the Quick reply messages section.
    • Type the desired message you want to use when rejecting calls using the quick reply feature.


How to use the quick reply feature to reject incoming calls?
When the quick reply feature is on and your phone is turned over, when an incoming call arrives, place your finger on the heart rate sensor (it's located below the flash at the back side of the phone) and hold it for 2 seconds. Your phone will automatically reject the call and send the rejection message to the caller.
