For some reason, you may don't want to be notified by certain app, for instance when you have to keep an app but don't want to be notified when there's an available update for the app, or when you have to keep an app but the app often sends you unwanted notifications, or when you have two apps that have the same function and need to block notifications of one of these apps to avoid double notifications, etc. Disabling notifications of an app will make the notification sound, the notification on the status bar and in the notification panel of the app are disabled. However, before disabling the notifications of an app, you have to know that it may cause you to miss any important alerts and updates of the app.
