  1. Open the Internet app and then open a webpage.

Method #2: By using hand gesture
It's an alternative way to take a screenshot if you don't like using hardkeys combination. As the example, we'll use this method to take a screenshot of an article in a webpage by using the following steps:
  1. Before you can take a screenshot using hand gesture, you have to enable the palm swipe to capture feature with these steps:
    • On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
    • Scroll down to find Advanced features and then tap it.
    • Tap Palm swipe to capture.
    • Depending on your current settings, tap the ON/OFF switch to enable or disable the palm swipe to capture feature. When the switch turns blue , means this feature is enabled.
  2. Now, open the Internet app and then open a webpage.
  3. Place the edge of your palm on the screen and swipe it across more than half of the screen, while keeping in contact with it, until you hear the shutter sound.
  4. The screenshot has been taken and will be saved in the Screenshot album in your Gallery app.

While you're using your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge for doing something, e.g., write a text message, browsing a webpage, etc., and suddenly there's a nice moment you want to capture, then don't make multiple steps to launch the Camera app make you miss that moment. You can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Advanced features and then tap it.
  3. Depending on your current settings, tap the ON/OFF switch next to Quick launch camera to enable or disable this option. When the switch turns blue , means the quick launch camera feature is enabled.


How to use the quick launch camera feature?
When this feature is enabled, press the Home key twice in quick succession to quickly launch the Camera app.

Some features in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge work by utilising the proximity sensor, one of which is the direct call feature. When this feature is enabled, you can easily call the contact whose call log, message or contact details are currently displayed on the screen by bringing your phone near to your ear.


How to enable or disable the direct call feature?
You can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Advanced features and then tap it.
  3. Tap Direct call.
  4. Depending on your current settings, tap the ON/OFF switch to enable or disable the direct call feature. When the switch turns blue , means this feature is enabled.


How to use the direct call feature?
As the example, we'll use this feature when viewing a contact's log by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Phone app.
  2. Tap Log tab.
  3. Tap a call log of a contact you want to call.
  4. Now, bring your phone close to your ear and it will automatically call the contact whose call log is selected by you.

Smart alert is a feature in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that will let you set your phone to vibrate when you pick it up to notify you about missed calls and messages. This feature will help to remind you to check those notifications as soon as you pick up your phone so you won't miss any important one and can quickly do the required action, e.g., call back the call or reply the message.


How to enable or disable the smart alert feature?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Advanced features and then tap it.
  3. Scroll down the screen and then tap Smart alert.
  4. Depending on your current settings, tap the ON/OFF switch to enable or disable the smart alert feature. When the switch turns blue , means the smart alert feature is enabled.


How to use the smart alert feature?
After you use your phone then put it down, the screen will automatically turn off after the screen timeout delay is over. When the smart alert feature is enabled, your phone will vibrate when you pick it up to notify you when you have missed call or message notifications.

Easy mute is one of gesture-based features in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that will let you mute incoming calls or alarms by placing your hand on the screen or turning the device over. It comes handy to easily silence the call or alarm when it rings in wrong or unwanted situations, e.g., while you're at library, while you're in a meeting, etc.


How to enable or disable the easy mute feature?
You can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Advanced features and then tap it.
  3. Scroll the screen to the very bottom and then tap Easy mute.
  4. Tap the ON/OFF switch to enable or disable the easy mute feature. The switch turns blue when it's enabled.


How to use the easy mute feature?
When the easy mute feature is enabled and an incoming call arrives or an alarm goes off, cover the screen with your palm or turn the device over so that the screen will face downwards to mute/silence the call or alarm tone.
