By default, your
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will automatically turn off the screen backlight when the current screen timeout is over. As the example, if the screen timeout is set to 30 seconds, means your phone will wait for 30 seconds of inactivity before turning off the screen backlight. When needed, you can adjust the screen timeout to a shorter period if you want to save more battery life or to a longer period for convenient usage.
How to adjust the screen timeout?
You can do so by using the following steps:
- On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
- Scroll down to the screen to find Display and then tap it.
- Tap Screen timeout and then select from the following options:
- 15 seconds
- 30 seconds
- 1 minute
- 2 minutes
- 5 minutes
- 10 minutes
- The screen timeout has been adjusted.
