Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Adjust Automatic Screen Lock Delay in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

When the screen turns off automatically after the screen timeout is over while you use one of screen lock types with security lock settings(PIN, password, pattern, or fingerprints), your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will lock the screen automatically after the current automatic screen lock delay is over for security reason. When needed, you can adjust the delay to a shorter period if you concern with the security issue or to a longer period for convenient access to your phone.

How to adjust the automatic screen lock delay?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Lock screen and security and then tap it.
  3. Tap Secure lock settings.
  4. Tap Lock automatically and then select from the following options:
    • Immediately: select this option to automatically lock the screen once the screen is turned off automatically.
    • 5 seconds
    • 15 seconds
    • 30 seconds
    • 1 minute
    • 2 minutes
    • 5 minutes
    • 10 minutes
    • 30 minutes
  5. The automatic screen lock delay has been adjusted.
