1. Mute incoming calls

3. Tap Sound mode and then select from the following options:
• Sound: select this option to enable sound mode. In this mode, the phone will play sounds for incoming calls, notifications, media and system.
• Vibrate: select this option to enable vibration mode. In this mode, the phone will vibrate for incoming calls and will silence the notifications.
• Mute: select this option to enable silent mode. In this mode, the phone will silence all sounds, except the media sound, without having to turn off the phone.

Method #3: From the device options

1. Long press the Power key until you see the device options is displayed.
2. Tap to enable silent mode. In this mode, the phone will silence all sounds, except the media sound, without having to turn off the phone. The button will turn green when it's enabled.
3. Tap to enable vibration mode. In this mode, the phone will vibrate for incoming calls and will silence the notifications. The button will turn green when it's enabled.
4. Tap to turn on sound mode. In this mode, the phone will play sounds for incoming calls, notifications, media and system. The button will turn green when it's enabled.

As a note, when your phone is on mute/silent mode, you can press the Volume up key once to enable the vibration mode or press it twice to enable the sound mode. When you're in the vibration mode, you can press the Volume up key once to enable the sound mode.

3. Depending on your current settings, tap the Auto checkbox to enable or disable Automatic brightness. When the Auto checkbox is checked means the automatic brightness is enabled and the phone will be able to automatically adjust the screen brightness using its sensor.
4. To adjust the screen brightness manually, tap and slide the bar to the left for a darker screen, or tap and slide the bar to the right for a brighter screen.

Method #2: From the settings menu

1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Sound and display section and then tap Display .
3. Tap Brightness.
4. Depending on your current settings, tap Automatic brightness to enable or disable it. When the checkbox in the left side of this option is checked means the automatic brightness is enabled and the phone will be able to automatically adjust the brightness using its sensor.
5. To adjust the screen brightness manually, tap and slide the bar to the left for a darker screen, or tap and slide the bar to the right for a brighter screen.
6. Tap OK button to save the changes.

Tips:
To help you conserving the battery, it's recommended to turn the automatic brightness on so that the phone will be able to automatically adjust the screen brightness using its sensor based on the remaining charge in the battery. But, you have to remember that turn this feature on will make the screen dimmer since it'll will reduce the maximum brightness.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Use Google Voice Typing Feature in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

By default, Samsung Galaxy S5 lets you performing voice dictation by using the Google voice typing feature. By using this feature you can enter text by using your voice instead of typing using keyboard. 4. When the Speak now screen with is displayed, speak your message clearly and distinctly into the microphone(It'd better if you break down your message into smaller segments). The text will be displayed in your message as you are speaking.
5. Since this feature won't automatically insert punctuations, if you want to insert a punctuation then you have to manually speak the punctuation you want to use. For the example, if you'd like to type "Where are you?", then you'd need to speak the words "Where are you question mark".
   The following are some handy voice dictation commands that work in Samsung Galaxy S5:
   
   • comma= comma (,)
   • full stop= full stop (.)
   • question mark= question mark (?)
   • exclamation point= exclamation point (!)
   • enter or new line= break to a new line
   • new paragraph= new paragraph
6. Since this feature doesn't have a voice dictation command to delete a word, you have to tap Delete button if you'd like to delete a wrong word.
7. If the mic icon turns gray, it means that this feature is timed out and you have to tap again to start entering text using your voice.
8. If necessary, you can change the default language of the Google voice typing by using the following steps:
• Tap .
• Tap Add more languages.
• Clear the checkbox next to Automatic to allow you selecting other available languages.
• Now, select the required language you want to use.
• Press the Back key to return to the voice dictation screen.
9. Tap quit from the Google voice typing screen and use the keyboard.

As a note, since the voice dictation commands in the Google voice typing feature are very limited therefore this feature is best used for conversational messages that don't need complex formatting or symbols, e.g.: email messages, text messages, quick notes, etc.

Copy and paste text is a feature that can be used in Samsung Galaxy S5. This feature will help you duplicating or moving copied text with ease from one app to another. Since all copied text will be saved to the clipboard, it makes you can not only paste a text that you have just copied, but also paste an older copied text by selecting the required one from the clipboard as long as the clipboard has not been cleared yet.


How to access the clipboard?
Generally, there are two methods that can be used to access the clipboard: 1) in an app or screen where you can enter text by long tapping in a text entry field, 2) in an app or screen where you can see the keyboard by utilizing more options in the keyboard.

Method #1: From a text entry field
If you have ever copied text or taken a screenshot then you can easily access the clipboard from a text entry field in any app or screen. But, as the example, we'll access the clipboard from a text entry field when composing a new text message in Messaging app:

1. Copy a text from any app or take a screenshot.
2. Now, open Messaging app and then tap to create a new text message.
3. Long tap in the Enter message field until a pop up window appears and then select Clipboard .
4. All recently copied text/pictures will be displayed now and you can select the one that you want to paste to.
5. The selected text or picture will be pasted in the Enter message field.

Method #2: From the keyboard
You can easily access the clipboard in any screen or app where you can use the keyboard. But, as the example, we'll access the clipboard from the keyboard when composing a new text message in Messaging app:

1. Open Messaging app and then tap to create a new text message.
2. If necessary, tap the Enter message field to view the keyboard.
3. Long tap (FYI, other icons may appear instead of depending on the last function that was used) until a pop up window appears and then select to access the clipboard.
4. All recently copied text/pictures will be displayed now and you can select the one that you want to paste to.
5. The selected text or picture will be pasted in the Enter message field.

As a note, the copied pictures in clipboard are only available and can be pasted if you're in a text entry field where you can insert pictures, e.g: when composing text or email messages.
