By default, the Music app in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge plays audio playback in normal speed. However, this app has a feature that will let you change the speed of the audio playback so it can be played slower or faster. You can use it to help you easily practice a new song or learn a new language from audio track by slowing down the speed of the playback, or help you save more time with faster listening to an audio playback that you think it's playing way too slowly by speeding up the speed of the playback.


How to change the speed of the audio playback in the Music app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Music app and then play a music or other audio track you want to listen to.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then select Settings.
  3. Tap Play speed.
  4. Slide the bar to the left or tap to slow down the audio playback (up to 0.5x in speed), or slide the bar to the right or tap to speed up the audio playback (up to 2.0x in speed). If you have found the desired speed, tap Done button to save the changes.
  5. The audio playback speed has been adjusted.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Customise Tabs in Music App in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

The Music app in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has 7 tabs that are enabled by default and used to sort your music collection by certain category, e.g., by playlists, by albums, by folders, by artists, etc. As the example, you can access your music collection through the playlists tab when you want to listen to the music within a playlist you have made before. If needed, you can choose to enable only the required tabs to simplify the app looks or rearrange the order of the tabs for easier access to your music collection.


How to customise tabs in the Music app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Music app.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then select Settings.
  3. Tap Tabs to view all tabs. There are 7 tabs available: Playlists, Tracks, Albums, Artists, Genres, Folders, and Composers.
  4. To enable or disable tabs, check or uncheck the box in the left side of the required tab to enable or disable it. When the box is checked, means the tab is enabled and will be displayed in the Music app.
    As a note, the playlists tab and the tracks tab cannot be disabled.
  5. To change the order of tabs, tap and hold next to the required tab and then drag it to required position. For easier access, you can place the frequently used tabs in the top 4 position.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Set a Timer to Automatically Stop Music from Auto-Playing after a Certain Amount of Time in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

If you're the one who often fall asleep with music being played in your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge but don't want to end up waking up in the morning to a depleted battery, you can set a timer in the Music app before you go to sleep to have your phone automatically turns off the playback after the predefined time is over so you don't have to wake up somewhere in the middle of the night just to manually stop the playback. How to adjust the music auto off timer in the Music app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Music app.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then select Settings.
  3. Tap Music auto off and then select from the following options:
    • Never: this option is enabled by default. If you select it, your phone will not stop playing the playback until you turn it off manually.
    • After 15 minutes
    • After 30 minutes
    • After 1 hour
    • After 1 hour 30 minutes
    • After 2 hours
    • Custom: select this option if you want to set your own timer. You just need to set the time and then tap Done button to save and apply your customized timer.
  4. The music auto off timer has been adjusted. As the example, if you set the timer to after 1 hour, your phone will automatically stop music from auto-playing after 1 hour.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Listen to Music at Equal Volume Level in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

Music app in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has a feature named smart volume which will let you set your phone to automatically adjust the volume of all tracks to an equal level with the volume of the current playback. You can use this feature if your music files are come from different sources and/or have different sound qualities which make them sound louder or quieter than the current playback.


How to enable the smart volume feature in the Music app?
You can turn on this feature by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Music app.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then select Settings.
  3. Tap the ON/OFF switch next to Smart volume to enable or disable this option. The switch turns when it's enabled.
  4. When the smart volume feature is enabled, the Music app will automatically adjust the volume of all tracks to an equal level with the volume of the current playback. As the example, if the volume of the current playback is set to 30%, then the volume of other tracks will automatically be adjusted to 30%.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Listen to Music Wirelessly with Bluetooth Speaker in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

If you're the one who often use your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to listen to the music, doing this wirelessly with a Bluetooth speaker can be an alternative way if you don't want to plug any cable into your phone when it comes to connect with ear buds, headphones or other external speakers so you can listen to the music away from your phone.


How to listen to music wirelessly with a Bluetooth speaker?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Turn on your Bluetooth speaker.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone by swiping down the top of the screen to access the notification panel and then tap Bluetooth button in the quick settings area. Your phone will automatically scan for all available nearby Bluetooth devices.
  3. Tap your Bluetooth speaker's name to pair and connect it with your phone.
  4. Now, open the Music app and then select the required song you want to listen to with the Bluetooth speaker.
  5. If needed, you can use your Bluetooth speaker to keep your phone unlocked while it's being connected by adding this device into the trusted devices list with these steps:
    • Swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap the smart lock notification.
    • Tap Add as trusted device button.
    • Enter your current screen lock type. As the example, if you use PIN, you have to enter your 4-digit PIN numbers and then tap Done button to continue the process.
    • A pop up window appears to tell you some info about using your Bluetooth speaker as trusted device. To continue, tap Yes, add button to add your Bluetooth speaker into the trusted devices list.
    • Press the Power key twice to go to the lock screen. Here, you'll see that the smart lock feature is enabled and you just need to swipe your finger on the screen to unlock it while your phone is connected with your Bluetooth speaker.

Samsung Galaxy S4: How to Delete Music Files in a Windows Computer via Windows Explorer App

If you can't delete your music files directly from your Samsung Galaxy S4, e.g: when the screen is broken but the phone can still be turned on, then alternatively you can connect your phone with your Windows PC and then delete the music files using Windows Explorer app. It can also be an alternative way if you have not had the Samsung Kies 3 app in your PC yet. As the example, we'll delete all music files stored in the Music folder in the internal storage of Samsung Galaxy S4 while it's being connected to a Windows PC via Windows Explorer app by using the following steps:
  1. Connect your phone to the computer using the provided USB cable by plugging the micro USB connector to the micro USB port in your device (it's located under the Home key) and the USB connector to a USB port on your PC. If it's the first time for you to connect your phone with the PC, your PC may need a few minutes to install the driver. By default, your phone will use MTP as the connection mode.
  2. When the phone has been successfully connected to your PC and is ready to use, a pop up window will appear on your computer. Click Open device to view files to automatically explore your phone in the Windows Explorer.
  3. In the Windows Explorer app, click the Phone folder to explore the internal storage of your phone, and then click the Music folder to view all music files within this folder.
  4. Select all music files within the Music folder by using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+A.
  5. To delete the selected music files, press the Delete key in your PC's keyboard, or click the right-mouse button and then select Delete.
  6. Click the Yes button to confirm deleting the music files.
  7. All music files within the Music folder will be permanently deleted from your phone.
  8. Once done, close the Windows Explorer app and then you can disconnect your phone from the PC by unplugging the USB cable from your phone and your PC.

Samsung Galaxy S4: How to Transfer Music Files to a Windows PC via Windows Explorer App

For some reason, you'll probably need to transfer your music files to your Windows computer, e.g: when you want to backup your music files by copying them to your computer so that when you accidentally lose them you can easily retrieve them from your computer, when you want to free up some space in your phone by moving your music files to your computer, etc. However, if you don't like using Samsung Kies 3 app to transfer files between your phone and your Windows PC, or if you have not installed Samsung Kies 3 app yet, you can still easily transfer your music files from your phone to your Windows computer by using Windows Explorer app.

  1. Connect your phone to the computer using the provided USB cable by plugging the micro USB connector to the micro USB port in your device (it's located under the Home key) and the USB connector to a USB port on your PC. If it's the first time for you to connect your phone with the PC, your PC may need a few minutes to install the driver. By default, your phone will use MTP as the connection mode.
  2. When the phone has been successfully connected to your PC and is ready to use, a pop up window will appear on your computer. Click Open device to view files to automatically explore your phone in the Windows Explorer app.
  3. In the Windows Explorer app, click the Phone folder to explore the internal storage of your phone, and then click the Music folder to view all music files stored within this folder.

  7. The music files will be copied or moved from the Music folder in the internal storage of your phone to the selected folder in your PC.
  8. Once done, close the Windows Explorer app and then you can disconnect your phone from the PC by unplugging the USB cable from your phone and your PC.

Samsung Galaxy S4: How to Add Music from a Windows Computer via Windows Explorer App

Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with the default Music Player app that can be used to listen to the music stored in the phone memory or in the SD card. How to add music from a Windows Computer to Samsung Galaxy S4 with Android 5.0.1 Lollipop via Windows Explorer App?

    • Open a new Windows Explorer app and then navigate to the folder in your PC where the music files you want to add to your phone are placed in.
    • Select the required music files and then copy them by using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+C, or click the right-mouse button and then select Copy.
  5. Paste copied music files to your phone by using the following steps:
    • Open the Windows Explorer app that you use to explorer the Music folder in the SD card in your phone (see the step #3).
    • Paste the copied music files by using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+V, or click the right-mouse button and then select Paste.
    • The selected music files will be copied from your PC to your phone. 
    • Wait until the process is completed.
  6. Once done, close all Windows Explorer apps and you can disconnect your phone from the PC by unplugging the USB cable from your phone and your PC.
  7. Now, you can enjoy listening to the music that you have just added in your Samsung Galaxy S4 by using the stock Music Player app or any third-party Music Player app that you have installed in your phone.

  4. In the Kies screen, click Music located at the left side menu. All of music files in your phone, either those in the internal memory or in the SD card, will be displayed here.
  5. Select the required music files you want to delete from your phone and then click at the top of the Kies screen.
  6. Click the Delete button to confirm deleting the selected music files.
  7. The selected music files will be deleted from your phone.
  8. Once done, you can disconnect your phone from Samsung Kies 3 app by clicking in the right side of the device name in the Kies screen. Then, you can disconnect your phone from the PC by unplugging the USB cable from your phone and your PC.

If it's the first time for you to connect your phone with the PC, your PC may need a few minutes to install the driver. By default, your phone will use MTP as the connection mode

  2. When your phone has been successfully connected to your PC, launch Samsung Kies 3 app in your computer. If you have not installed this app yet, you can download it here and then install it in your computer.
  3. Samsung Kies 3 app will connect to your phone automatically.
  4. In the Kies screen, click Music located at the left side menu. All of music files in your phone will be displayed here.
  5. Click the checkbox in the left side of the title row to select all music files and then click at the top of the Kies screen.
  6. Select a folder in your PC and then click the Select Folder button to save the selected music files to the selected folder. It may take several minutes or so, depends on how many music files that you want to transfer to your PC.
  7. When the transfer process is completed, you can disconnect your phone from Samsung Kies 3 app by clicking in the right side of the device name in the Kies screen. Then, you can disconnect your phone from the PC by unplugging the USB cable from your phone and your PC.
