Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Set a Timer to Automatically Stop Music from Auto-Playing after a Certain Amount of Time in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

If you're the one who often fall asleep with music being played in your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge but don't want to end up waking up in the morning to a depleted battery, you can set a timer in the Music app before you go to sleep to have your phone automatically turns off the playback after the predefined time is over so you don't have to wake up somewhere in the middle of the night just to manually stop the playback. This feature can also help you save more power because your phone doesn't need to use power to play the music when you have fallen asleep.

How to adjust the music auto off timer in the Music app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Music app.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then select Settings.
  3. Tap Music auto off and then select from the following options:
    • Never: this option is enabled by default. If you select it, your phone will not stop playing the playback until you turn it off manually.
    • After 15 minutes
    • After 30 minutes
    • After 1 hour
    • After 1 hour 30 minutes
    • After 2 hours
    • Custom: select this option if you want to set your own timer. You just need to set the time and then tap Done button to save and apply your customized timer.
  4. The music auto off timer has been adjusted. As the example, if you set the timer to after 1 hour, your phone will automatically stop music from auto-playing after 1 hour.
