Slow motion is a camera mode in the Camera app in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that you can use to record a video of a moving object at a high frame rate with the rear camera so you can view it in slow motion to make object movements or scenes within the video to be more attention grabbing or dramatic. If needed, you can edit your slow motion video to fit with your need, such as trim the beginning of the video or adjust the slow motion speed.
How to create a slow motion video in the Camera app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
- Open the Camera app. By default, it uses the rear camera with the auto mode.
- Tap Mode and then tap Slow motion enable this mode.
- Aim the camera to the object.
- Tap to start recording the video.
- When you're finished, tap to stop recording the video.
How to edit a slow motion video in the Gallery app?
When needed, after creating a slow motion video, you can edit the video in the Gallery app to suit your need by using the following steps:
- In the preview screen of the Camera app, tap the preview thumbnail of the slow motion video to view it in the Gallery app.
- Tap to play the slow motion video. Your phone will play the video with a randomly set of slow motion section.
- Tap to pause the playback.
- If needed, you can drag at the beginning or at the end of the video to trim the beginning or end part of the video. If you'd like trim the video with more precisely, tap and hold and then drag it to the left or right so you can move through the section frame by frame.
- If needed, you can drag at the beginning or at the end of the slow motion section to adjust the selected area of the video you want to play in slow motion. If you'd like adjust it with more precisely, tap and hold and then drag it to the left or right so you can move through the section frame by frame.
- If needed, you can adjust the slow motion speed by tapping within the slow motion section and then tap the current speed option. Select from: 1/2, 1/4, or 1/8(it's enabled by default). As the example, if you select 1/4, your phone will play the video four times slower than the actual speed of the video.
- If needed, you can divide a slow motion section into two parts by tapping within the slow motion section and then tap .
- Tap to preview the playback.
- If you'd like to save the edited video, tap Export. The video will be saved in the Video editor album.
