How to switch between Qwerty and 3x4 keyboards?
You can do so by using the following steps:

1. Swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the System section and then tap Language and input .
3. If necessary, tap Default and then select Samsung keyboard.
4. Tap next to Samsung keyboard to open up more detailed settings.
5. Tap English(UK). FYI, the option name may vary depending on what the input language you have chosen for your Samsung keyboard.
6. Now, you can select the required keyboard type from the following options:
• Qwerty keyboard: select this option if you want to use Qwerty keyboard.
• 3x4 keyboard: select this option if you want to use the old style keyboard that you used to see in the old phones. This keyboard is simpler and has bigger keys than Qwerty keyboard. You can operate this keyboard using the same way as when you used to do in an old phone, for instance if you want to enter letter "c" then you have to tap the letter key "abc" three times. Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Use My Hot Keys Feature in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

My hot keys is a new feature that can be found in the Samsung keyboard in Samsung Galaxy S5. With this feature, you can assign a sentence or phrase to a keyboard number key as a text shortcut. Next time, when you're in an app or screen where you can enter text, you can easily enter that preset sentence or phrase simply by long tapping the assigned number key, saves your time since you don't need to enter that sentence or phrase manually.

How to assign a sentence or phrase to a keyboard number key as a text shortcut?
You can do so by using the following steps:

1. Swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the System section and then tap Language and input .
3. If necessary, tap Default and then select Samsung keyboard.
4. Tap next to Samsung keyboard to view more detailed settings menu.
5. Tap My hot keys.
6. If My hot keys feature is disable, slide the ON/OFF switch to the right to enable this option.
7. Tap the Enter shortcut text field below the desired number key and then write the desired sentence or phrase you want to assign to the selected number key. FYI, the sentence can contain with letters, numbers or symbols. As the example, if you want to assign your email address in the keyboard number key 1 then write the email address in the Enter shortcut text field below the number key 1.

How to use my hot keys feature?
Assuming that you have enabled my hot keys feature in the Samsung keyboard settings and assigned texts to the keyboard number keys then you can use it to help you enter the preset texts with more easily and fast. See the following steps as the example of using my hot keys feature:

1. Go to the app or screen where you can enter text, for instance you can open up the Messaging app and then tap to write a new message.
2. In the Enter message field, long tap the required keyboard number key and the preset sentence will automatically appear on the screen. For instance, if you have assigned your email address in the number key 1, then long tap the number key 1 will automatically enter your email address.

Since this feature will act as a text shortcut, then it will be more helpful if you use it to assign the most frequently used sentences of phrases so that whenever you need to type those sentences you just need to long tap the required number keys instead of write them manually which surely will take longer time.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Reject Calls Using 7 Different Methods in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

For certain reason, you may don't want to accept incoming calls and prefer to reject the calls. This method is the common method that can be used to reject calls. You don't need to enable any option to be able to use this feature. When an incoming call comes and is displayed in full screen then you'll see two call-related icons. Tap and hold and then drag it to the left to reject the call.


Method #2: Single tapping the on-screen reject call icon
This method lets you single tap the on-screen reject call instead of swiping it, makes this method easier to be done than #1. With the single tap mode has been enabled, when an incoming call comes and is displayed in full screen then you just need to single tap to reject the call.


Method #3: From the call-notification pop-ups
If you have enabled call-notification pop-ups, when you're using other app in full screen view and an incoming call comes then it'll be displayed in a small pop-up window, gives you some time to finish or close your work before taking the call. If you want to ignore the call, you can tap in the pop-up window to reject it.


Method #4: Using Voice command
If you have enabled voice control for incoming call, when an incoming call comes you can reject it simply by saying the voice command "reject". Since this method lets you reject call without having to touch the screen, the it'd be useful to be used when you're in a situation where you hard to use your hand to control/navigate the phone. As a note, make sure your phone is not in the vibration mode when using this feature.


Method #5: Using Auto reject call feature
Samsung Galaxy S5 has a feature called call rejection that can be used to reject calls automatically. With this feature, you can easily block all incoming calls, block calls from specific phone numbers, or block unknown calls. When a blocked number calls, you won't be notified (either by ringtone or notification) and the call will be rejected automatically.


Method #6: Using Reject call with message
By using reject call with message, when an incoming call comes you can easily send a message(either by using the default message or creating a new one) to reject call, lets you give a reason to the caller why you didn't take the call so that they won't misunderstand. It's faster and easier than if you have to reject the call and send the message separately.


Method #7: Using Blocking mode
In the blocking mode feature, there's an option that can be used to block incoming calls. When you have enabled this option, you can easily block all incoming calls except calls from those that you have allowed to call you while blocking mode is on. Assuming that you have enabled call waiting feature, then you can use it to allow incoming call alert when a call is in progress. See the following steps as the example of using call waiting feature:

1. When an incoming call comes whilst you're in an active call, you'll hear a tone to let you know that you have another call and the second incoming call will be displayed on the screen.
2. If you want to ignore the second call, tap and hold and then drag it to the left to reject the call.
3. If you want to accept the second call, tap and hold and then drag it to the right. Then, you have to select one of the following options:
• Put the first call on hold: select this option if you want to answer the second call and put the first call on hold.
• End call with the first call: select this option if you want to answer the second call and end the first call.
4. If you put the first call on hold, you can swap the calls by tapping . It'll put the second call on hold and activate the first call.
5. Tap to end the active call.

As a note, since in some models some options or features may be disabled or unavailable therefore if you don't have call waiting option in your phone then you can activate/deactivate this feature by dialing the call waiting code(you can get it from your service provider).

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Change Ringtone in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

The easiest way to help you easily recognize that you have an incoming call is by changing the ringtone to the desired one. You can use the default ringtone provided by this phone or use your own music or mp3 if you like more personal ringtone. Also, you can change the ringtone for all incoming calls or only for those that you communicate with frequently.


How to change ringtone using 3 different methods?
Generally, there are three methods available that can be used to change ringtone: from the Phone app, from the settings menu and from the Contacts app. You can choose the one that best suit your need.

Method #1: From the Phone app
This method lets you change ringtones for all incoming calls with ease from the Phone app settings. See the following steps to do so:

1. Open Phone app.

Method #2: From the Settings menu
This method has similar function with the #1 since it will also let you change ringtones for all incoming calls with ease, but it's done from the settings menu. See the following steps to do so:

1. Swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the sound and display section, and then tap Sound .
3. Tap Ringtones.
4. To use Samsung default ringtone go to the step #5, while to use your own music as ringtone go to the step #6.
5. Use Samsung default ringtone:
• Select the desired ringtone you want to use.
• Tap OK button.
• The selected sound has been set as ringtone.
6. Set your own music or mp3 as ringtone:
• Tap Add button.
• Tap Sound picker to select song from the Music Player app.

• If necessary, enable Auto recommendation so that your phone can extract the highlights from sound files.

Method #3: From the Contacts app
This method lets you assign different ringtones for different contacts so that you can easily know who is calling you simply by hearing the ringtone. It'd better to be used for your favourite or important contacts. See the following steps to do so:

1. Open Contacts app.
2. Tap the required contact whose ringtone you want to change.
3. Tap to edit the selected contact.
4. Tap Ringtone.
5. To use Samsung default ringtone go to the step #6, while to use your own music as ringtone go to the step #7.
6. Use Samsung default ringtone:
• Select the desired ringtone you want to use. FYI, if you choose Default ringtone, then it'll use the ringtone that has been selected in the Phone app settings or in the sound settings(see method #1 and #2)
• Tap OK button.
• The selected sound has been set as ringtone for the selected contact.
7. Set your own music or mp3 as ringtone:
• Tap Add button.
• Tap Sound picker to select song from the Music Player app.
• Select the desired song you want to set as ringtone.
• If necessary, enable Auto recommendation so that your phone can extract the highlights from sound files.
• Tap Done button.
• The selected song has been set as ringtone for the selected contact.

As a note, if you change ringtone using method #1 or #2, make sure not to choose silent as ringtone unless you want a sound not to be played when an incoming call is received without having to put your phone into the silent/vibration mode.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Use Call Forwarding in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Since call forwarding is a basic feature therefore most of phones usually have this feature, including with Samsung Galaxy S5. Call forwarding itself is a feature that will let you to divert some or all of incoming calls to another number. By using this feature, you can set your phone to always forward all incoming calls or only forward them when the certain condition is fulfilled (e.g: when busy, unanswered or unreachable). You can choose which call forwarding option you want to enable based on your need, for instance when you're in an out of coverage area then you can enable call forwarding to forward incoming calls to another phone number so that you won't miss any important call.

How to use call forwarding feature?
You can do so by using the following steps:

1. Open Phone app.
2. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Settings.
3. Tap Call.
4. Tap More settings.
5. Tap Call forwarding.
6. Tap Voice call and then select from the following options:
• Always forward: select this option to forward all incoming calls. FYI, if you select this option, you'll see is displayed on the status bar as a sign that all incoming calls will be forwarded and other call forward options will be disabled.
• Forward when busy: select this option to forward incoming calls when your number is busy.
• Forward when unanswered: select this option to forward incoming calls when unanswered.
• Forward when unreachable: select this option to forward incoming calls when the phone is turned off or when your number is unreachable.
7. Soon after selecting a call forwarding option (e.g: Forward when unreachable), enter the alternative number you want the incoming calls to be forwarded to or tap to select the required one from the Contacts app and then tap Enable button. 
8. If you didn't choose always forward, you can enable other call forwarding options by repeating from the step #6.
9. To disable call forwarding, tap the required call forwarding option you want to disable (e.g: Forward when unreachable) and then tap Disable button.

As a note, if you don't have call forwarding option in your phone(in some models, some options/features may be disabled or unavailable) then alternatively you can enable or disable call forwarding via text message or by dialing a specific code. You can get the message format or the code to enable or disable call forwarding from your service provider.

Method #5: Using voice command
Wanna be able to answer calls without having to touch the on-screen icon or pressing the physical button? If that so, try activating voice control for incoming calls so that when you have an incoming call you can easily answer it simply by saying the voice command "answer". FYI, the voice command won't be available if your phone is in the vibration mode.


Method #6: Using air call-accept feature
Basically, this method has similar function with voice command since it will allow you to answer incoming calls without having to touch the on-screen icon or pressing the physical button. When you have enabled air call-accept feature, when you have an incoming call you can easily answer it simply by waving your hand above the sensor left and right repeatedly. FYI, the air-gesture sensor is located above the screen in the right side of the earpiece.
