The Messages app in your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge doesn't let you create new folders to manage your messages. The lack of this ability may throw you to the situation where you can accidentally delete an important message or some within a conversation. To avoid this problem, you can lock that message to have your phone asks for your permission first before it can be deleted. All locked messages will be listed in the locked messages folder to help you easily find them when you need them, e.g., forward a locked message to another contact, unlock a locked message or some, copy text of a locked message to other apps, etc.
How to lock a message in the Messages app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
- Open the Messages app.
- Tap a conversation.
- Long tap the required message you want to lock and then select Lock.
- This icon will be displayed in the selected message as a sign that it has been locked. FYI, if you enable the auto delete old messages feature, locking a message will prevent your phone to auto delete it.
