• Date: enable this option to let your phone adds the date and time to your photos. Your phone will use the currently set date and time when the picture was taken.
• Location: enable this option to let your phone adds location data to your photos. Your phone will use the currently location where the picture was taken. As a note, this feature works if you have enabled the location tags feature in the stock Camera app before taking the photo.
• Category: enable this option to let your phone assigns categories to your photos automatically. There are 7 default categories available: people, scenery, documents, food, pets, vehicles and flowers.
• Tags: enable this option if you want to be able to add tags to your photos. If you have tagged people's faces within a photo using the face tag feature, the tagged names will automatically be displayed under this option.

You can do so by using the following steps:

1. Open the stock Video Player app.
2. By default, the Personal tab will be opened and all of videos in your phone will be displayed here in thumbnail view.
3. Long tap a thumbnail of the required video that you want to upload to Youtube to select it.
4. Tap at the top of the screen and then tap Youtube.
5. If needed, you can trim the selected video before uploading it to Youtube.
6. Now, you can enter the required information for your video in the provided fields:
• Title: fill this field with the title of the video.
• Description: fill this field with the description of the video.

Nearby devices is a content sharing feature available in Samsung Galaxy S5. When this feature is enabled, you can access or download shared photos in other nearby devices that are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

How to enable the nearby devices feature?
Before you can access or download shared photos in a nearby device, you have to enable the nearby devices feature in your phone first by using the following steps:

1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Connect and share section and then tap Nearby devices .
3. If Nearby devices is off, tap the ON/OFF switch to turn it on.
4. The nearby devices feature has been enabled and this icon will be displayed on the status bar.

How to access or download shared photos in a nearby device?
When you have enabled the nearby devices feature in your phone and there's a nearby device available that shares the photos and is connected to the same Wi-Fi network, then you can access or download shared photos from that device by using the following steps:

1. Open the stock Gallery app.
2. Tap at the top left corner of the screen to open up the menus.
3. All available nearby devices will be listed in the Nearby devices section.
4. Tap the required device that you want to access or download its photos. 
5. All shared photos from the selected device will be displayed here. To download shared photos go to the step #6, while to view shared photos only go to the step #7.
6. If you wish to download some shared photos from the selected device into your phone, do as follows:
• Tap at the top right or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then tap Select.
• Select the required photos you want to download.
• Tap at the top of the screen to download the selected photos into your phone. By default, the downloaded files will be saved in the Download folder in the device storage, or you can see the downloaded photos in the Download album in the stock Gallery app.
7. If you wish to only view shared photos from the selected device without downloading, do as follows:
• Tap the required photo to view it in full screen.
• Swipe the screen from the left to the right or vice versa to view other shared photos.

By default, all photos you have taken with the Camera app will be saved in an album named Camera in Gallery app. Since the photos in this album may have different categories, you'll probably need to organize them by copying or moving them to the appropriate album so that the photos with the same category will be placed in the same album, for instance you can copy or move all of your family photos you have taken with the Camera app to the album named Family. As a note, copying photos will duplicate the photos to the new album without deleting the original ones, while moving photos will move the photos to the new album and deleting the original ones.

You can do so by using the following steps:

1. Open the stock Gallery app. By default, this app displays photos by album or folder where the photos are saved in.

4. Select the required photos you want to copy or move.
5. Copying photos to another album:

• The selected photos have been copied to the selected album.
6. Moving photos to another album:

• The selected photos have been moved to the selected album.

4. Tap the face and then select from the following options:
• Me: select this option if the recognized face is you.
• Add name: select this option to tag the required contact to the face.
5. The selected face has been tagged. You can tap the face tag to use some additional options, e.g: call the contact, send a text or email message to the contact, etc.

As a note, once the face tag feature is enabled, your phone will automatically learn to recognize faces in the photo therefore if you have ever tagged a contact to a face in the past then your phone will suggest the contact name when you tag the same face in other pictures.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Enable and Use Interaction Control in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Interaction control is a feature available in Samsung Galaxy S5 which will allow you to block or restrict certain or whole area of the screen while using an app so that the touch interaction can only work in the unblocked area. While this feature is being used in an app, all physical buttons function, the auto rotate feature, the touch interaction in the notification panel and all enabled motions will be disabled. Given the function, you can use the interaction control mode if you want another users who will use your phone only have a limited access and control of your media or data.

How to enable or disable the interaction control feature?
You can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:

1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Personalisation section and then tap Accessibility .
3. Tap Dexterity and interaction.
4. Tap Interaction control.
5. Depending on your current settings, tap the ON/OFF switch to enable or disable the interaction control feature. When the switch is on the right side or shows green means the interaction control feature is enabled.

How to use the interaction control feature?
Assuming that you have enabled the interaction control feature, then you can use this feature to control the touch interaction while using an app. As the example, we'll use this feature while viewing photos within an album in Gallery app:

1. Open Gallery app.
2. Tap an album.
3. Tap a photo within the album to view it in full screen.
4. To go to the screen where you can outline the area you want to block or restrict from touch interaction, there are two ways available that can be used:
• Press the Home key and the Volume down key simultaneously.
• Press the Home key three times quickly and then select Interaction control. It will work if you have enabled the interaction control option within the direct access feature.
5. Adjust the restricted area:
• If you want to block certain area of the screen, you can do so either by adjusting the blue frame or drawing a line around the required area that you want to restrict from touch interaction.
• If you want to block the whole area of the screen, you can do so by checking the box in the left side of the Block whole screen option.
6. Tap Done button.
7. Your phone will display the blue frame as a sign that the area is restricted. If you didn't restrict the whole screen, you still can do touch interaction in the not restricted area.
8. To exit from this mode, there are two ways available that can be used:
• Press the Home key and the Volume down key simultaneously.
• Press the Home key three times quickly. It will work if you have enabled the interaction control option within the direct access feature.

As a note, since the interaction control feature will disabled the physical buttons function then it can't be enabled along with the assistant menu feature, in other words, the assistant menu feature should be disabled first when you want to use the interaction control feature.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Transfer Files Using Bluetooth in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

I do believe that most of us already know about Bluetooth because it's an old connectivity feature that can be found in almost all of the phones, either smartphones or feature phones. Though there are some advanced connectivity features, but in some conditions Bluetooth could be the only possible connectivity feature that you can use, for instance when you're in an area where there's no Wi-Fi network so that you can't use Wi-Fi direct or S Beam, or when the other phone you want to share with only has Bluetooth as the connectivity feature.


How to pair with other Bluetooth enabled devices?
Before using Bluetooth to transfer files with your Samsung Galaxy S5, you have to enable it first and then pair your device with another Bluetooth enabled devices. You can do so either through the settings menu or the notification panel.

Method #1: From the settings menu
This method allows you to pair and unpair with other Bluetooth enabled devices as well as configure the Bluetooth settings. Here's the steps:

1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel.
2. Tap to go to the settings menu.
3. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Network connections section and then tap Bluetooth .
4. If Bluetooth is off, slide the ON/OFF switch to the right to turn it on. Your phone will scan all available Bluetooth enabled devices automatically.
5. Change Bluetooth visibility:
• In the My device section, check the box in the right side of your device name.
• Your phone will visible to all nearby Bluetooth devices until the visibility timeout is over (by default it's 2 minutes).
6. Pairing with another Bluetooth enabled device:
• In the Available devices section, tap the required Bluetooth device you want to pair with.
• Tap OK button in the Bluetooth pairing request window. The other device should do the same.
• Your device is now paired with the selected device.
7. Remove a Bluetooth pairing:
• In the Paired devices section, tap next to the paired devices you want to unpair with.
• Tap Unpair.
• The Bluetooth pairing between your phone and the selected device will be removed.

Method #2: From the notification panel
This method lets you quickly enable Bluetooth and pair with other Bluetooth enabled devices. Here's the steps:

1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel.
2. Tap Bluetooth button. The button turns green when it's enabled.
3. Change Bluetooth visibility:
• In the My device section, check the box in the right side of your device name.
• Your phone will visible to all nearby Bluetooth devices until the visibility timeout is over (by default it's 2 minutes).
4. Pairing with another Bluetooth enabled devices:
• Tap Scan button.
• All nearby Bluetooth devices available will be listed under Available devices.
• Tap the required Bluetooth device.
• Tap OK button in the Bluetooth pairing request window. The other device should be the same.
• Your device is now paired with the selected device.

How to transfer files using Bluetooth?
When your phone has been paired with other Bluetooth enabled devices, now you're ready to transfer files. As the example we'll try to transfer some photos using Bluetooth from the Samsung Galaxy S5 to the Samsung Galaxy S4. Here's the steps:

1. Open Gallery app.
2. Tap an album.
3. Tap and then select Select.
4. Select the desired photos you want to transfer using Bluetooth.
5. Tap and then select Bluetooth .
6. Tap the paired device you want to share with.
7. The selected photos will be sent. FYI, the paired device needs to accept the files to be able receiving the files.

For the record, though Bluetooth has slower speed compared with other connectivity features (e.g: Wi-Fi Direct, S Beam, etc), but Bluetooth is a feature that will allow you to easily transfer files device to device with almost all of the phones.
