How to change ringtone?

Method #1: From the settings menu

Method #2: From a contact's detail page
When needed, you can assign different ringtone for a specific contact, e.g., your important or favourite contacts, so you can easily know when you have calls from this contact by using the following steps:
  1. Open Contacts app.
  2. Tap the required contact you want to change its ringtone.
  3. Tap Edit to edit the selected contact.
  4. Tap More to see more available fields for the selected contact.
  5. Scroll down the screen and then tap Ringtone. By default, all contacts use the default ringtone(see method #1).
  6. Select the required tone you want to use.
  7. Tap the Back key to return to the previous screen and then tap Save button to save the changes.
  8. The selected tone has been set as the ringtone for the selected contact.

  5. Once done, the icon backgrounds option will be available and you can use it to display icons in the home screen and apps screen with shaded background to make them more stand out.

You can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.

You can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down to find Sounds and vibration and then tap it.
  3. Scroll down the screen and then tap the ON/OFF switch next to Touch sounds to enable or disable this option. when the switch turns blue , means the touch sounds feature is enabled and your phone will play a sound when you tap the screen or the soft keys.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has three sound profiles: sound mode(it's selected by default), vibration mode, and silent mode. When needed, you can easily enable the required sound profile to suit your need, as the example, you can enable the vibration mode if you'd like to be notified with vibration when you have calls or notifications, you can enable the silent mode if you'd like to silence all sounds except the media sound without turning off the phone, or you can enable the sound mode if you'd like to be notified with sound when you have calls or notifications.


How to change the sound profile?

Method #1: From the notification panel

    • : this button will display when the sound profile is set to Vibrate. In this mode, your phone will vibrate for incoming calls and notifications, play sound for media, and silence for system.
    • : this button will display when the sound profile is set to Mute. In this mode, your phone will silence all sounds except the media sound.

Method #2: From the settings menu
  1. On the home screen, tap Apps at the bottom right corner of the screen to go to the apps screen.
  2. Find the Settings and then tap it to go to the settings menu.
  3. Scroll down to find Sounds and vibration.
  4. Tap Sound mode and then select from the following options:
    • Sound: select this option to turn on the sound mode to have your phone plays sound for incoming calls, media, notifications, and system.
    • Vibrate: select this option to turn on the vibration mode to have your phone vibrates for incoming calls and notifications, plays sound for media, and silences for system.
    • Mute: select this option to turn on the silent mode to have your phone silences all sounds except the media sound.

Method #3: By pressing the Volume up key
When your phone is in the silent mode, press the Volume up key once to enable the vibration mode and twice to enable the sound mode. While, when your phone is in the vibration mode, press the Volume up key once to enable the sound mode.

You can turn on or off this feature by using two different methods: from a home screen panel and from the settings menu.

Method #1: From a home screen panel
  1. On the home screen, pinch the screen using two fingers or long tap on an empty area of the screen to go to the edit screen.
  2. Tap the Wallpapers button at the bottom of the screen to go to the wallpaper menu.
  3. Tap the ON/OFF switch next to Wallpaper motion effect to enable or disable it. When the switch turns blue , means the wallpaper motion effect feature is enabled.

Method #2: From the settings menu
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Wallpaper and then tap it.
  3. Tap the ON/OFF switch next to Wallpaper motion effect to enable or disable it. When the switch turns blue , means the wallpaper motion effect feature is enabled.


How to use the wallpaper motion effect feature?
When this feature is enabled, go to a home screen panel and then tilt your phone left and right or top and bottom and you'll see the home screen wallpaper will move so slightly.
