When you're using your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge but not opening the Messages app, you can set your phone to display new text messages as pop-ups so you won't miss any important ones. The pop-up will stay on top for about 10 seconds to let you read the message as soon as it arrives and then take the required action for the message, e.g: reply the message, close the message, etc.
How to enable the pop-up display feature?
You can turn on this feature by using the following steps:
- Open the Messages app.
- Tap More at the top right and then select Settings.
- Tap Notifications. If Notifications is off, slide the ON/OFF switch to the right to turn it on. The switch turns green when it's enabled.
- Slide the ON/OFF switch next to Pop-up display to the right to enable it. When the switch turns green , means the pop-up display feature is enabled and your phone will display new text messages as pop-ups on any screen outside the Messages app, except for the lock screen.
How to use the pop-up display feature?
When you're using your phone or opening any app outside the Messages app and a new text message arrives, it will be displayed as a pop-up.
When the
preview message feature is also enabled, the pop-up will display the sender and the content of the message as well as provide you with the following options:
- Close: tap this option to close the pop-up.
- Reply: tap this option to easily reply the message in the pop-up without opening the message in the Messages app. You can write your message in the provided field and then tap Send button to send your message.
- View: tap this option to open the message in the Messages app. Alternatively, you can read the whole message by scrolling down or up the message in the pop up.

- Close: tap this option to close the pop-up.
- View: tap this option to open the message in the Messages app.
