Samsung Galaxy S8: How to Fix Cannot Find the Show and Hide Navigation Bar Button in Android 7.0 Nougat

By default, the show and hide navigation bar button is enable and can be found in the left side of the navigation bar in your Samsung Galaxy S8. You can use this button to show the navigation bar so you can easily use it to navigate your phone or auto-hide the navigation bar so you can reclaim its space to display content in your phone for a more immersive experience with your phone's gorgeous screen. If you cannot find this button, it may has been disabled accidentally so you just need to enable it to get it back in your bar.


How to enable the show and hide navigation bar button?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Tap Display.
  3. Scroll down the screen to find Navigation bar and then tap it.
  4. Tap the ON/OFF switch next to Show and hide button to enable or disable this option. The ON/OFF switch turns when it's enabled.
  5. Now, the show and hide navigation bar button will be added or displayed in the left side of the navigation bar to let you use it to show or auto-hide the navigation bar.

Samsung Galaxy S8: How to Use Blue Light Filter Feature in Android 7.0 Nougat

Blue light filter is a feature in Samsung Galaxy S8 that you can use to make your phone limits the amount of blue light emitted by the screen to help you sleep better because the secretion of melatonin in your body which causes you to become sleepy won't be distracted even if you have to stare your phone's screen at night and uses warmer colors to save your eyes from strain especially if you often use your phone at night or in darkened rooms. As a note, since this feature effects the screen only, all photos, videos, or screenshots taken while this feature is enabled will be saved in normal colors.


How to use the blue light filter feature?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Tap Display.
  3. Tap Blue light filter.
  4. To turn on the blue light filter feature immediately, tap the ON/OFF switch next to Turn on now. When the switch turns blue means this feature is enabled and your phone will filter blue light emitted by the screen and use warmer colors to help you sleep better and prevent eyes strain.
    Alternatively, you can quickly turn on or off the blue light filter feature by swiping down the top of the screen using two fingers to open up the quick settings panel and then tap the Blue light filter button . The button turns blue when it's enabled.
  5. If needed, you can adjust the colors temperature when the blue light filter feature is enabled by sliding the blue light filter opacity adjustment bar to the left for a brighter screen colors or to the right for a warmer screen colors.
  6. If needed, you can set a schedule for when you want to use the blue light filter feature by using the following steps:
    • Tap the ON/OFF switch next to Turn on as scheduled.
    • Select Custom schedule and then adjust the start time and the end time to set your phone to automatically enable and disable the blue light filter feature at scheduled time. As the example, if you set the start time to 7:00 PM and the end time to 7:00 AM next day, the blue light filter feature will automatically be turned on at 7:00 PM and turned off at 7:00 AM next day.
    • Select Sunset to sunrise to set your phone to automatically enable the blue light filter feature when sun sets in your current location and disable this feature at sunrise. Since using this feature needs to use your location information, you'll be asked to turn on Location if it's off.

  4. Tap the required theme you want to apply to your phone. As the example, we'll change the theme from the Default to the Sevenabstract theme.
  5. If needed, you can see the preview of the selected theme by swiping the screen to the left or right. If you like the theme, tap Apply button to apply the selected theme.
    As a note, the visual elements of interface, e.g., colors, icons, wallpapers, etc., will change depending on the selected theme.
  6. A pop up window appears to inform you that applying the selected theme will change some settings, may close some apps and unsaved data may be lost. Tap the Apply button to continue applying the selected theme.
  7. Wait until the applying selected theme process is completed.
  8. The selected theme has been applied to your phone and you can explore your phone to see the changes.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Setup and Use Screensaver Feature in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

Screensaver, or we used to call it as daydream, is a feature in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that you can use to control what happens while your phone is docked and/or charging. When this feature is enabled, your phone will launch a screensaver, e.g., photos in your phone and/or Google account, colour change effects, etc., when your phone is charging or docked without turning off your phone. You can use this feature when you want your phone displays something more attractive than the default black screen when your phone is charging or docked.


How to setup the screensaver feature?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Display and then tap it.
  3. Scroll the screen to the very bottom and then tap Screensaver.
  4. If the screensaver is off, tap the ON/OFF switch to turn it on. The switch turns blue when it's enabled.
  5. Now select the desired screensaver you want to use from the following options:
    • Colors: select this option to have your phone displays the colors change effect as the screensaver.
    • Photo Table: select this option to have your phone displays photos in your phone with the scattered effect as the screensaver. If needed, you can manually select which photos you want to display as the screensaver by tapping and then select the required photo albums.
    • Photo Frame: select this option to have your phone displays a slideshow of the photos in your phone as the screensaver. If needed, you can manually select which photos you want to display as the screensaver by tapping and then select the required photo albums.
    • Photos: select this option to have your phone displays a slideshow of photos in your phone and/or Google account. If needed, you can manually select which photos you want to display as the screensaver by tapping and then select the required Google account and photo albums in your phone.
  6. If needed, you can preview the selected screensaver by tapping More at the top right and then select Preview.
  7. If needed, you can select the time when the selected screensaver should be activated by using these steps:
    • Tap More at the top right and then select Select when to use.
    • Now, select from the following options: While docked, While charging (either cable or wireless charging), or Both (while docked and charging).


How to use the screensaver feature?
As the example, we'll use this feature when charging Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with a wireless charger by using the following steps:
  1. Without turning off your phone, charge it with a wireless charger.
  2. When the screen timeout period is over, the screen will be turned off and your phone will display the selected screensaver.

When enabled, the keep screen turned off feature in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge can help you prevent your phone's screen from accidentally turning on while in the dark place and causing unwanted actions, e.g., open an app, call a phone number, etc. It comes handy, especially, if you turn off your lock screen or use swipe as your screen lock method.


How to enable or disable the keep screen turned off feature?
You can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Display and then tap it.
  3. Scroll down the screen and then tap the ON/OFF switch next to Keep screen turned off to enable or disable this option. When the switch turns blue , means the keep screen turned off feature is enabled and your phone will prevent the screen from turning on accidentally while it's in the dark place, such as while you're carrying it in a pocket or bag.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Enable or Disable LED Indicator Feature in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

When enabled, the LED indicator feature in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge can help you easily know some conditions of your phone(e.g., when the battery is low, when the battery is being charged, when the voice recording is in progress, etc.) and notifications(e.g., missed call, incoming text or email message, etc.) while the screen is turned off by lighting up or flashing the LED indicator that is located in the left side of the light/proximity sensor.


How to enable or disable the LED indicator feature?
You can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Display and then tap it.
  3. Scroll down the screen and then tap the ON/OFF switch next to LED indicator to enable or disable this option. When the switch turns blue , means the LED indicator feature is enabled.
    FYI, your phone will light up or flash the LED indicator with certain colour when the screen is turned off to easily notify you about the following conditions:
    • Blink the red LED: when the battery level is low.
    • Light up the red LED: when the device is being charged.
    • Light up the green LED: when the battery is fully charged.
    • Blink the blue LED per 10 seconds: when receiving notifications.
    • Blink the blue LED per 1-2 seconds: when the voice recording is in progress.

As a note, third-party apps usually have their own LED indicator settings. Thus, your phone may light up or blink the LED indicator with other colour when you receive notifications from those apps.
