When the
sound profile in your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is set to the sound mode, you can adjust the volume level for call ringtone, media(music, video, games, etc.), system sound(touch sound, screen lock sound, keyboard sound, etc.), and notifications to suit with your need. As the example, you might want to lower the call ringtone volume when you're in a quieter environment, or you might want to raise the notifications volume when you're waiting an important message and don't want to miss it, etc.
How to adjust the volume level?
As the example, we'll adjust the sound level by using two different methods: from the settings menu and by using the Volume key.
Method #1: From the settings menu
- On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
- Scroll down to the Device section and then tap Sounds and notifications.
- Tap Volume.
- To adjust the volume level, slide the volume adjustment bar next to Ringtone, Media, Notifications, or System to the left to lower the volume or to the right to raise the volume.
Method #2: By using the Volume key
- On any screen, press the Volume up key or the Volume down key.
- Tap next to the call ringtone volume adjustment bar to go to the volume settings menu.
- To adjust the volume level, slide the volume adjustment bar next to Ringtone, Media, Notifications, or System to the left to lower the volume or to the right to raise the volume.
As a note, when you're playing media files, e.g., music, game, video, you can adjust the sound by tapping the volume icon within the app or by pressing the Volume key.
