You can create a new Google account or use an existing one. As the example, we'll try adding an existing Google account by using two different methods: from the settings menu and from a Google-related app.

9. In the Set up payment info screen, you can set up the desired payment method, but if you'd like to set it up later, you can select No thanks and then tap Continue button.
   
   
10. Your existing Google account has been successfully added to your phone.

Method #2: From a Google-related app
As the example, we'll add an existing Google account via Gmail app by using the following steps:

1. Open Gmail app. If you have not added a Google account yet, you'll see a Welcome to Gmail screen. Tap Skip button at the bottom left corner.
   
   
2. Tap Add an email address.
   
   
3. Select Google and then tap Next button.
   
   
4. Enter your existing Google email address and then tap Next button.
   
   
5. Enter your Gmail password and then tap Next button.
   
   
6. In the Term of Services and Privacy Policy screen, tap Accept button to continue.
   
   
7. In the Google services screen, the backup feature is enabled by default. You need to scroll down the screen and then tap Next button to continue.
   
   
8. In the Set up payment info screen, you can set up the desired payment method, but if you'd like to set it up later, you can select No thanks and then tap Continue button.
   
   
9. Your existing Google account has been successfully added to your phone.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Block Private Calls or Numbers in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

As we all know that the default call rejection feature in Samsung Galaxy S5 can be used to block unwanted or unknown calls as long as the callers have numbers, that's why this feature can't be used to block those who don't have numbers. So, if you wish to not receive any private call or calls from those who hide their phone numbers, you can use a third-party app in the Play Store that has the ability to block private calls. Blocking private calls will set your phone to not notify you when you have incoming calls from those who hide their phone numbers so that you won't be bothered again with them.

How to block private calls or numbers using Blacklist app?
There are some apps in the Play Store that can be used to block private calls. But, as the example, we'll use Blacklist app in the following steps to block private calls:

1. Download install Blacklist app from the Play Store.
2. Once the installation process is completed, open the app.
3. At the first time use, you will be provided with the term of use and privacy policy screen. Tap OK button to continue.
4. In the main screen of this app, in the Control tab, tap and then tap Blocking numbers.
5. In the Blacklist tab, tap Private numbers.
6. Tap End call and then tap Save button.
7. From now on, any private call will be blocked. FYI, you can still see all blocked private call logs in the call logs in the Phone app or in the blocked logs in the Blacklist app.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Disable Auto Add Icons for Newly Installed Apps to Home Screen in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Google Play Store is the official market for all Android phones, including with Samsung Galaxy S5, that can be used to install apps in condition that you have added a Google account into your phone. By default, once the installation of an app is completed, your phone will automatically add the icon for the app to home screen. But, if you don't like this feature, for instance when you don't want to place all new apps icons to home screen, you can easily turn this feature off in the Play Store app settings.

1. Open the Play Store app.

A couple weeks back, an insider named Chantal sent me an email and asked me a way to add mobile data button to her Samsung Galaxy S5 home screen. However, since Samsung Galaxy S5 doesn't have the default option or widget to let you turn on or off mobile data from home screen, then you need to install a third-party mobile data widget app from the Play Store to do so. To make it clearer, as the example, we'll use the mobile enabler widget app to let you turn on or off the mobile data from home screen.

How to turn on or off mobile data from home screen by utilizing data enabler widget?
Before doing this steps, make sure you have an empty space in your home screen. See the following steps to install the data enabler widget and then add it to home screen so that you can use it to quickly enable or disable your mobile data connection:

1. Open Play Store app.
2. Find the Data Enabler Widget app and then install it into your phone.
3. Once the installation is completed, the data enabler will be added to your widgets list.
4. Press the Home key to go to your home screen.
5. Long press the Recent apps key or long tap in a blank area of the home screen and then tap Widgets .
6. Find the Data Enabler 1x1 widget.
7. Tap and hold the widget and then drag it to the home screen.
8. Release the widget to place it on home screen.
9. Now, you can quickly turn on or off your mobile data connection simply by single tapping the data enabler widget on home screen. The arrow icon within the widget turns white when it's enabled.

If you are not satisfied with the stock keyboard or can't find a keyboard feature that you're looking for, you will probably install a third-party keyboard app from the Play Store or other sources. Luckily, you are allowed to have more than one keyboard apps in your Samsung Galaxy S5 and can switch between them with ease by changing the input mode so that you can use the required one according to your need.


How to change input method?
Generally, there are two methods available, either from the settings menu or when you're entering texts, that can be used to change the input method so that you can switch between installed keyboard apps in your phone.

Method #1: From the settings menu

1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the System section and then tap Language and input .

Method #2: When entering texts
FYI, this method can be applied in any app or screen where you can use keyboard to enter texts. As the example, we'll change the input method when composing a new text message in Messaging app:

1. Open Messaging app and then tap to create a new text message.
2. If necessary, tap the Enter message field to display the keyboard.
3. Swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap Choose input method in the Notifications section.
4. Now, select the required keyboard you want to use.
5. The selected keyboard will be applied and ready to be used to enter texts.

How to uninstall an app?
Generally, there are four methods available that can be used to uninstall third-party apps from your phone.

Method #1: From the Play Store
This method allows you to uninstall any app that you have downloaded from the Play Store with ease. See the following steps to do so:

1. Open Play Store app.
2. Tap located at the top left corner of the screen to open up the Play store menus.
3. Tap My apps.
4. Tap INSTALLED tab to see all installed apps in your phone.
5. Tap the required app you want to uninstall.
6. Tap UNINSTALL button.
7. Tap OK button.
8. The selected app will be uninstalled.

Method #2: From the Galaxy Apps
This method allows you to uninstall any app that you have downloaded from the Galaxy Apps with ease. See the following steps to do so:

1. Open Galaxy Apps.
2. Tap located at the top left of the screen to open up the menus.
3. Tap Purchased.
4. Tap All tab.
5. Tap the required app you want to uninstall.
6. Tap Uninstall button.
7. Tap OK button.
8. The selected app will be uninstalled.

Method #3: From the Apps menu
This method allows you to uninstall any installed third-party app that is displayed in the apps menu. See the following steps to do so:

1. Tap Apps in Home screen.
2. Tap and then select Downloaded apps.
3. From here you can uninstall an app by using one of the three following ways:
I. Using the uninstall menu:
• Tap and then select Uninstall.
• Tap the required app you want to uninstall.
• Tap Uninstall button.
• The selected app will be uninstalled.
II. Using the uninstall icon:
• Tap and hold the required app you want to uninstall and then drag it to the Uninstall icon located at the top of the screen.
• Tap Uninstall button.
• The selected app will be uninstalled.
III. Using the App info icon:
• Tap and hold the required app you want to uninstall and then drag it to the App info icon located at the top of the screen.
• If necessary, you can perform clear cache by tapping Clear cache button.
• If necessary, you can also perform clear data by tapping Clear data button and then tap OK button.
• Tap Uninstall button.
• Tap OK button.
• The selected app will be uninstalled.

Method #4: From the Application manager
This method allows you to uninstall any third-party app installed in your phone, either those from Play Store/Galaxy Apps or those from unknown sources. See the following steps to do so:

1. Swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel.
2. Tap to go to the settings menu
3. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Applications section and then tap Application manager .
4. In the Downloaded tab you'll see all downloaded apps that can be uninstalled.
5. Tap the required app you want to uninstall.
6. If necessary, you can perform clear cache by tapping Clear cache button.
7. If necessary, you can also perform clear data by tapping Clear data button and then tap OK button.
8. Tap Uninstall button.
9. Tap OK button.
10. The selected app will be uninstalled.

As a note, uninstalling apps can help you to fix error or clean up your storage, but you'd better read the description and the review of an app first before installing it into your phone because it'll help you to make sure that the app has a feature you're looking for to prevent you installing an unused app and also to make sure that the app has a good review to prevent you installing an app that might cause errors on your phone.

In some cases, an installed third-party app can make the phone experiences errors. A bug in the app may be the culprit of the problem. Always update app is a thing that can be done to minimize errors caused by installed third-party apps. In the newest version, the app usually get some improvements or new features to provide the user with a better performance and some fixes for any bug/issue that has been found in the previous version.

How to update apps automatically?
You can set your phone to update any installed app automatically when a new version is available by using the following steps:

1. Open Play Store app.
2. Tap located at the top left corner of the screen to open up the Play store menus.
3. Tap SETTINGS.
4. Tap Auto-update apps and then select from the following options:
• Do not auto-update apps: select this option to turn off auto update apps feature. If you choose this option, you can update an app manually when the new version is available.
• Auto-update apps at any time. Data charge may apply: select this option to set your phone to update apps automatically when you have an internet connection, either from Wi-Fi or mobile data. FYI, it'd better if you have unlimited data plan when you choose this option to avoid large data usage.
• Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only: select this option to set your phone to update apps automatically only when you're connected with a Wi-Fi network.

How to update apps manually?
If you have decided to turn off auto update apps in your phone, then you still be able to update them manually when the new version is available by using the following methods:

Method #1: From the notification panel
By default, you'll receive a notification when there's a new version of an app is available. When you receive the notification, then you can update the app manually by using the following steps:

1. Swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel.
2. Tap the update apps notification.
3. You'll be redirected to the My apps menu in the Play Store.
4. All apps with available updates will be listed under Updates section.
5. Updating a single app:
• Tap the required app.
• Tap UPDATE button.
• Tap ACCEPT button.
• The selected app will be updated.
6. Updating all apps:
• Tap UPDATE ALL button.
• All apps under Updates section will be updated.

Method #2: From the Play Store
In case you didn't receive notification of available update, you can manually update the required apps directly from the Play Store app by using the following steps:

1. Open Play Store.
2. Tap located at the top left corner of the screen to open up the play store menus.
3. Tap My apps.
4. Tap INSTALLED tab to view all installed apps in your phone.
5. All apps with available updates will be listed under Updates section.
6. Updating a single app:
• Tap the required app.
• Tap UPDATE button.
• Tap ACCEPT button.
• The selected app will be updated.
7. Updating all apps:
• Tap UPDATE ALL button.
• All apps under Updates section will be updated.
