Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Create and Edit a Slow Motion Video in Camera App in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

You can use the rear camera in your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge to record a video at a high frame rate so you can view it in slow motion. It's best used when you'd like to record a video of a moving object and make a scene or more within the video to be more attention grabbing or dramatic. When needed, you can edit the video to suit it with your need, e.g., trim the beginning or the end part of the video, split the slow motion section, adjust the slow motion speed, etc.


How to create a slow motion video in the Camera app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app. If the quick launch camera feature is enabled, you can quickly launch the Camera app from any screen by pressing the Home key twice in quick succession.
  2. Tap Mode to show all available shooting modes.
  3. Tap Slow motion to select and enable this mode.
  4. Aim the camera to the object.
  5. Tap to start recording the video.
  6. When you're finished, tap to stop recording the video.

How to edit a slow motion video?
When needed, after recording a video with the slow motion mode, you can edit it to suit your need by using the following steps:
  1. In the preview screen of the Camera app, tap the preview thumbnail to view the video you have just recorded in the Gallery app.
  2. Tap to play the video. Your phone will play the video with a randomly set slow motion section.
  3. Tap to pause the playback.
  4. Drag to the desired point to trim the beginning or end part of the video. If you'd like trim it with more precisely, tap and hold and then drag it to the left or right so you can move through the section frame by frame.
  5. Drag to adjust the selected area of the video you want to play in slow motion. If you'd like adjust it with more precisely, tap and hold and then drag it to the left or right so you can move through the section frame by frame.
  6. To adjust the slow motion speed, tap within the slow motion section and then select Speed. Select from: 1/2, 1/4(this option is enabled by default), or 1/8. As the example, if you select 1/8, your phone will play the video eight times slower than the actual.
  7. To divide a slow motion section into two parts, tap within the slow motion section and then select Split.
  8. Tap to preview the playback.
  9. If you'd like to save the video, tap Export. The video will be saved in the Video Editor album.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Edit Tagged Information in a Photo in Android 5.0.1 Lollipop

When you have enabled the tag buddy feature in the stock Gallery app, the tagged information(date and time, location, category and tags) will be displayed at the bottom left corner of each photo. If needed, you can easily edit the tagged information, for instance: assign other categories, enter a new tag, etc.


How to edit tagged information in a photo in the stock Gallery app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open Gallery app.
  2. Tap an album and then tap the required picture.
  3. Tap the tagged information in the bottom left corner, or tap at the top right and then select More info.
  4. Tap at the top right to edit the tagged information of the selected picture.
  5. Now, you can edit the required information, such as: set/change/remove location, assign or remove categories, add or remove tags. As a note, since the people's faces you have tagged can't be removed from here, if you'd like to remove the tagged name, you can find the complete steps here.
  6. Tap Done button to save the changes.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Enable Tag Buddy Feature in Gallery App in Android 5.0.1 Lollipop

Tag buddy is a useful feature in the stock Gallery app that can be used to tag your photos with some information, such as: date and time, categories, location and tags. The tagged information will be displayed at the bottom left corner of each photo.


How to enable the tag buddy feature in the stock Gallery app?
You can turn this feature on by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock Gallery app.
  2. Tap at the top right corner of the screen or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Settings.
  3. If needed, scroll down the screen.
  4. Tap Tag buddy.
  5. Slide the ON/OFF switch to the right to enable the tag buddy feature. The switch turns green when it's enabled.
  6. Now, you can enable the following options to tag them in your photos:
    • Date: enable this option to let your phone adds the date and time to your photos. Your phone will use the currently set date and time when the picture was taken.
    • Location: enable this option to let your phone adds location data to your photos. Your phone will use the currently location where the picture was taken. As a note, this feature works if you have enabled the location tags feature in the stock Camera app before taking the photo.
    • Category: enable this option to let your phone assigns categories to your photos automatically. There are 7 default categories available: people, scenery, documents, food, pets, vehicles and flowers.
    • Tags: enable this option if you want to be able to add tags to your photos. If you have tagged people's faces within a photo using the face tag feature, the tagged names will automatically be displayed under this option.

Samsung Galaxy S4: How to Upload a Video to Youtube From Gallery or Video Player App in Android 5.0.1 Lollipop

If you like sharing your own videos to others by uploading it to Youtube app, you cannot only upload your video directly from the Youtube app, but also from other pre-installed apps (e.g: Gallery app, Video Player app and My Files app) available in your Samsung Galaxy S4 by utilizing the share via option within those apps. As the example, we'll try uploading a video to Youtube app from Gallery app and Video Player app.


How to upload a video to Youtube from the stock Gallery app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock Gallery app.
  2. Tap an album where the video you want to upload to Youtube is placed in.
  3. Long tap the required video that you want to upload to Youtube to select it.
  4. Tap at the top of the screen and then tap Youtube.
  5. If needed, you can trim the selected video before uploading it to Youtube.
  6. Now, you can enter the required information for your video in the provided fields:
    • Title: fill this field with the title of the video.
    • Description: fill this field with the descriptions of the video.
    • Privacy: use this option to change the privacy settings of the video. Select Public if you'd like everyone can search and view the video, select Unlisted if you'd like everyone that has the link to the video can view the video, or select Private if you'd like the video can only be seen by you and the users that you select.
    • Tags: fill this field with tags of the video.
  7. Tap at the top left corner of the screen to start uploading the selected video.
  8. Wait until the uploading video progress is completed. When the video has been completely uploaded, the video will be labelled with Ready for watch caption below the video title and you'll be notified with a notification in the status bar or notifications panel.


How to upload a video to Youtube from the stock Video Player app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock Video Player app.
  2. By default, the Personal tab will be opened and all of videos in your phone will be displayed here in thumbnail view.
  3. Long tap a thumbnail of the required video that you want to upload to Youtube to select it.
  4. Tap at the top of the screen and then tap Youtube.
  5. If needed, you can trim the selected video before uploading it to Youtube.
  6. Now, you can enter the required information for your video in the provided fields:
    • Title: fill this field with the title of the video.
    • Description: fill this field with the description of the video.
    • Privacy: use this option to change the privacy settings of the video. Select Public if you'd like everyone can search and view the video, select Unlisted if you'd like everyone that has the link to the video can view the video, or select Private if you'd like the video can only be seen by you and the users that you select.
    • Tags: fill this field with tags of the video.
  7. Tap at the top left corner of the screen to start uploading the selected video.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Access or Download Shared Photos Using Nearby Devices Feature in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Nearby devices is a content sharing feature available in Samsung Galaxy S5. When this feature is enabled, you can access or download shared photos in other nearby devices that are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.


How to enable the nearby devices feature?
Before you can access or download shared photos in a nearby device, you have to enable the nearby devices feature in your phone first by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Connect and share section and then tap Nearby devices .
  3. If Nearby devices is off, tap the ON/OFF switch to turn it on.
  4. The nearby devices feature has been enabled and this icon will be displayed on the status bar.


How to access or download shared photos in a nearby device?
When you have enabled the nearby devices feature in your phone and there's a nearby device available that shares the photos and is connected to the same Wi-Fi network, then you can access or download shared photos from that device by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock Gallery app.
  2. Tap at the top left corner of the screen to open up the menus.
  3. All available nearby devices will be listed in the Nearby devices section.
  4. Tap the required device that you want to access or download its photos. 
  5. All shared photos from the selected device will be displayed here. To download shared photos go to the step #6, while to view shared photos only go to the step #7.
  6. If you wish to download some shared photos from the selected device into your phone, do as follows:
    • Tap at the top right or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then tap Select.
    • Select the required photos you want to download.
    • Tap at the top of the screen to download the selected photos into your phone. By default, the downloaded files will be saved in the Download folder in the device storage, or you can see the downloaded photos in the Download album in the stock Gallery app.
  7. If you wish to only view shared photos from the selected device without downloading, do as follows:
    • Tap the required photo to view it in full screen.
    • Swipe the screen from the left to the right or vice versa to view other shared photos.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Play Burst Shot Photos in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

When burst shot mode in the stock Camera app is enabled, you can use this shooting mode to take up to 30 photos of moving subjects continuously with a single touch. When viewing a burst shot photo in the stock Gallery app, you'll see that it contains with a series of photos and can be played continuously so that it will look like a simple animated photo.


How to play a burst shot photo in the stock Gallery app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock Gallery app. By default, this app views photos by album.
  2. Tap Camera album. FYI, you can find all burst shot photos here because they are saved in the DCIM folder in the device storage automatically. Burst shot photos will be labelled with this icon .
  3. Tap a burst shot photo.
  4. If needed, you can change the play speed before playing burst shot photos by tapping at the top left corner of the photo and then select from the following options:
    • x1/5: select this option if you want the device plays burst shot photos five times slower than the actual.
    • x1/2: select this option if you want the device plays burst shot photos two times slower than the actual.
    • x1: select this option if you want the device plays burst shot photos at the actual speed.
    • x2: select this option if you want the device plays burst shot photos two times faster than the actual.
  5. Tap at the top left corner of the photo to play the selected burst shot photo.
  6. Single tap the photo to stop playing the selected burst shot photo.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Copy or Move Photos From One Album to Another in the Stock Gallery App in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

By default, all photos you have taken with the Camera app will be saved in an album named Camera in Gallery app. Since the photos in this album may have different categories, you'll probably need to organize them by copying or moving them to the appropriate album so that the photos with the same category will be placed in the same album, for instance you can copy or move all of your family photos you have taken with the Camera app to the album named Family. As a note, copying photos will duplicate the photos to the new album without deleting the original ones, while moving photos will move the photos to the new album and deleting the original ones.


How to copy or move photos from one album to another in the stock Gallery app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock Gallery app. By default, this app displays photos by album or folder where the photos are saved in.
  2. Tap an album.
  3. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then tap Select.
  4. Select the required photos you want to copy or move.
  5. Copying photos to another album:
    • Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Copy to album.
    • Select the required album where you want to place the selected photos to. Or, if needed, you can create a new album by tapping Create album button and then enter the required album name and then select OK button.
    • The selected photos have been copied to the selected album.
  6. Moving photos to another album:
    • Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Move to album.
    • Select the required album where you want to place the selected photos to. Or, if needed, you can create a new album by tapping Create album button and then enter the required album name and then select OK button.
    • The selected photos have been moved to the selected album.

Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Use Face Tag Feature Manually in the Stock Gallery App in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

When the face tag feature in the stock Gallery app is enabled, your phone will scan your photos using facial recognition to detect faces within the photos. When your phone detects a face within a photo, a white frame will be appeared around the face to let you tag a contact to that face. However, your phone may fail to detect a face within a photo due to some reason, e.g: face angle, face skin, skin colour, facial expression, light conditions or object's accessories(e,g: glasses, hat, etc). Fortunately, if your phone fails to detect a face within a photo then you can still tag a contact to the face manually with ease.


How to manually tag a contact to a face in a photo in the stock Gallery app?
Assuming that the face tag feature is enabled, you can manually tag a contact to an undetected face within a photo by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock Gallery app.
  2. Tap an album and then tap the required photo.
  3. Long tap on the desired face you want to tag. It'll quickly bring you to the tag face screen.
  4. If needed, you can adjust the tagged area by dragging .
  5. Tap Save button to save the changes.
  6. Select the required contact.
  7. The selected contact has been tagged to the selected face.
